Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 017 and 018

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi Oregonmom, I will have my son, T*() S*(), introduce us of and I will give him the biggest hug from you. You will  feel it all the way back here in Roseburg. Go Ducks

*(post copied and edited to remove full name)

I just had a phone call from Stephen!!  He passed all his physical assessment tests as well as his academic tests--only Battle Stations left.  He said the division came in 2nd in the Captain's cup (to a Seal prep 800 division).  He said the division earned all the flags and at this time are in line for the Hall of Fame division!!  I am so happy that he called-I have been missing him terribly!   Hope everyone else gets a call today!

My son called to. DIV 17 but said they did all right. So did they place?? Cool!

We Got a much needed call from our boy today and he sounds great, not so much a boy anymore!  All is complete cept BS and he said 017 works great as a team. So no worries. we were over joyed because we hadn't heard his voice in 29 days. Only 6 to go can hardly wait. We told him how proud we are because he has had a lot of health issues while in basic, and his jaw still numb from wisdom teeth being pulled in 2nd week.

Talking to my son now.Said they took 2nd to the Seal Div in the Captain's Cup and they made Hall of Fame. They are in recruit heaven right now. It is so nice to talk to him. He sounds so jazzed. Only 5 more days.

Most got a much needed call from my son too! Just like other comments Div 018 came in 2nd in capt cup. Just passed his final 2 tests too and ready for BC. Oregonmom68 my son was going to try and connect with your son today. My son has been sick almost all 9 weeks there and still coughing. But feels good. So good. To hear his grown up sounding voice! Can't wait to get to IL. My son left 10 days before his neice was born so he will see her for the first time at PIR. She will be in a US Navy dress and cap to match her Uncle!! Gonna be tears!! He can't wait to see his 6 week old niece!

Good evening everyone! Reminder not to post your SRs last names. I have copied and edited a few of the comments to remove them.

NO WORRIES!!!  This is an exciting time for you all and it just happens!! :)

I removed something I wrote. You got it right about being excited. Thank you for the advice.

What I loved is that our SR's voice sounded so strong and positive. So different from the other phone calls home.

No worries at all ladies!!! Like I said excitement takes over, nerves on edge and trip planning all clouds the brain. :)
