GROUPS: Listed by Name of US Naval Ships (actual US Naval vessels in service)
Looking for other Navy For Moms members with sailors on the same ship/boat?
Here is a list in alphabetical order by name of ship. List doe NOT include groups with fewer than 3 members and/or groups which have been inactive in the last 8 months. Cllckable links have been provided. Just click on the name of the ship. Please post a comment if I missed your sailor's ship (with a link, if possible). Please note that if your son/daughter is in boot camp, his/her barracks are named after ships. The groups listed below are not Navy For Moms groups designated for barracks (please see groups associated with PIR dates). Edited & updated Feb 2017 by BunkerQB.
This list refers to the REAL thing - with sailors, guns, etc.

Checked the information on the ships as they are listed with the Naval Vessel Register. You'll find it quite interesting.

They did a "hull swap" earlier this year. See www.stripes.com/news/navy/uss-cowpens-leaving-japan-in-hull-swap-wi....
:o)
The link for MOMS Beyond Trident no longer works.
I was also surprised to see the two links for the Mineman rating at the bottom.
Moms Beyond Trident - if memory serves me correctly - it was a decent size group - wonder what happened? Probably the creator left the site and the group was deleted as a result (she probably didn't know about that).
Miss you Lemonelephant. Hew can one make our ship group mere active. It was OK when it deployed but I think most are on FB.
I'm still here and would love to hear how your Sailor is; just leave a comment on my My Page. As far as the group, USS Bainbridge-Norfolk, you just have to invite others to the group if they have a loved one on that vessel and remind others to invite others as well. There will be times when the group will be more active than others. I see it with the group for the ship my Sailor is on. I lurk there, but don't comment. You may also have lurkers.

Could you add USS Nevada to the list?
Done. If you haven't you should join the Sub Moms & Nuke Moms groups and post your link to your new group for the USS Nevada SSBN 733.
I see from your profile, you have joined a number of groups related to your sailor. Go ahead and post a comment announcing your group (with the link of course). Thank you for being pro-active. If you need anything, you can always post a comment here and one of us will check in and do our best to answer your questions.
Thank your sailor for us. BQB
Where is the group for the USS Gettysburg? I see a group recently created but there is only 1 person in it.
USS GETTYSBURG is the group for that vessel. It can only become active when you and others join and post. What is your Sailor's rating (job/specialty)? There may be a group for that as well.
The group, USS MAINE (SSBN-741), has not been active in nearly a year and the creator does not appear to be active on the site. Another group, USS Maine SSBN-741/Naval Base Kitsap (Bangor), was just created.
