For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Ah mleelbg - I will pray for Blake as well. I know Jake was having a hard time the first few weeks, I think more because he had never been away from home. We are very close. He will be spending his birthday there - Wednesday - he will be 19. I am probably having a harder time than he is. He hadn't initially planned on the Navy. He had graduated high school with a 4.86 GPA. Had gotten a scholarship to college. Was going to study neuroscience. The catch - he was accepted to a non-residential college that was a few thousand miles from home. We flew up and checked out the college - was beautiful. We just couldn't afford the housing. So, he came home one day and had decided he was joining the Navy. As it got closer to him leaving he wasn't sure he wanted to do this. Then, after his first week there he was really frustrated because more than 25 of the guys are Nuke and, he's the ONLY MA (in his division)! When I talked to him last week he was told that they could spend time this week looking at reclassifying. So, he is thinking about it. I told him I will support him, no matter his decision. He's a pretty quiet, shy guy, so he's had a hard time sleeping in the same room with 90 other guys too! He even wrote and said "I hate being pee shy". Heehee..I write him everyday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed someone adopted him for Thanksgiving. Graduation can't come quick enough - I miss his face so much! :-)

A LOT of people from our family and church prayed for weeks that Tony (Anthony) would meet some good Christian friends to hang out with. God answered that prayer in Blake. I am so thankful that I've found a Christian friend, too. :) It's so neat that they met that first night! God is so good!

We sure are a quiet group! Has anyone heard from their SR? I haven't heard from mine in a week! No letter - no phone call! I keep reminding myself - no news is good news! I know they only have just over 3 weeks and lots to do. Who all is going to PIR? Did everyone know there was a Facebook group too? Dummy me just found it a couple of days ago. Sheesh I'm slow!

Your not slow! Not new to this like I am. I only heard from Blake last Wednesday, for him to tell me that he was more and likely going back to his division after he saw the doctor on Thursday and told me that he would only be able to call if it was bad news!! So I am definitely going with no news is good news!!!
I can't wait to go to PIR!! I am also looking forward to meeting you different mothers from our divisions. -

I haven't heard anything in a week either. My anxiety level has gone way down since receiving two calls and a letter last week. I know he is doing well and enjoying his time there. Those first few weeks were pretty brutal with limited contact. Thank goodness those days are behind me now. When I spoke to my son he said that this week is "hell" week, lots of inspections and tests. My husband and I along wih two of our daughters will be attending PIR, we are counting down the days and can't wait to finally see our son. Our youngest one(3 year old) will be staying home with family. We are hoping to go to the meet and greet, our arriving flight is 12:30 in the afternoon so as long as there are no flight delays we should make it. I did not know there was a Facebook page, I am a total newbie to Facebook, finally just signed up the day after my son left for boot camp. Do you have the name of the Facebook page by chance I would love to check it out?

Hey Tiffany, I am Marilee (mleelbg) I was told by Blake that he wouldn't be calling again for 2 weeks! I will be attending PIR with my youngest son Garrett (18 yr old) When is the meet and greet? We are flying in the day before around 9 am. Here is the Facebook page
U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command
They show pictures of PIR and what to expect! Looking for to going! I am so glad the my SR is doing better than he was. I know is definitely looking forward graduation and starting his training. Been praying for him emotionally, 1st time to be somewhere and not see his family. Praise God he makes friends easily.

Here's another FB group too - you have to get accepted, but lots of fun people on it! Our flight is coming in later as I have 3 kiddos staying behind and I have to get them all off to school before we leave. Our flight is suppose to land in Milwaukee around 2ish but we are staying about 7 miles from base. We are planning to attend meet and greet too though.
