Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 055 and 056

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

has anyone got any calls since thanksgiving?

We haven't received a call since the 23rd.

I haven't got a call since the scripted one on the 13th.

Our SR has gotten two calls- one on Sat 12/7 - which he said was an extra call? It was not very long, but it was good to hear from him. He sounds SO happy. He got to call again on Monday night 12/9 which he said was their 'regularly scheduled" call. It worked out because he got me on Sat and I was out shopping, then his dad on Monday! :) I never thought I would say it, but it going faster than I expected. I hope everyone is feeling the same!

I agree Kristie70it is going by faster than I expected. My son sounds good also. Monday's call he informed me that the pulled all four of his wisdom teeth. I'm glad I didn't know about that before-hand. He's a man now, and he seems to be handling this well.

Hey D's my nuke   My son mentioned his friend had all 4 of his wisdom teeth pulled recently.  I do wonder if our sons are friends?

I can't believe only 29 more days! Finally got my first phone call on Monday, he sounded great. We talked for 30 minutes, I don't think I took a breath the whole time I had so many questions to ask. What a great sense of peace now knowing he's happy and healthy. I did find out though after we spoke that the information his recruiter gave him about A school was totally incorrect. He told my son that after PIR he would be flying out to Texas for A school. Well that school has been closed for over 2 years now. The school he will be going to is in San Diego. and he doesn't fly out after PIR he stays at GL for 8 weeks for ATT then will go to SD. I just don't understand how these recruiters can be so out of touch and give out wrong info to recruit and their families. Luckily we're driving to PIR or I would of been on a plane back home instead of enjoying the whole weekend with him since he's staying now. Plus now I have to call hotel and add nights on to our stay. I just thank God I found out about this now and not on the 10th.  Boy is my son in for a surprise LOL

Alice- so excited to hear he got to call! I received a letter from my SR- he talked to yours and it is your son! So funny! Hopefully they are getting along since they are bunk mates. I am glad to hear you get to spend more time with your SR after PIR. That will make up for him having to go to San Diego! What a great experience for him though.

Mine was scheduled to have his out on Tues (12/10)...he said all four as well, maybe just 2...I had heard about this from a friend whose son went to BC earlier this year so I was prepared- LOL!  I just can't get over how happy my son is when he calls- it is amazing. He had a hard road to get into the service because of a shoulder injury his junior year in high school that required surgery. So, this was something that he had his heart set on and I am so proud of him for making it happen!  PLus, Ia m glad that I did not have to deal with him during the teeth removal...you know men! Such babies! LOL!

I too was glad I didn't know about it. My son is so much more adult than I gave him credit for.
Hoping for a call &/or letter for you. Sounds like good therapy for both of you :-)

Hello everybody!  It is nice to form a group for those in Div 055 and 056   My son is in Div 055.  I have only received form letters but did get to talk with him on the 23 for about 10 minutes or so!  It was wonderful!  I am hoping for a personal hand written letter soon.   I just mailed out the Bootcamp Questionnaire" posted on Navy4Moms site so hoping he will get it soon and return it in the SASE which I forgot to put a stamp on!   Happy Saturday everyone....time is getting closer each day to PIR!
