Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 055 and 056

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hey Div 055/056 moms! Permission to come aboard!

I am a mom with a son on Ship 11 in Div 056. He left for BC on Nov. 12. We received our scripted 'I'm on base' call at 8:03 pm that night. We received his box on Nov. 18, & the form letter on Nov. 21 We had an 8 minute conversation with him on Nov. 23 & we just received our first real letter from him yesterday, the 29th. Just wondering how everyone else's journey has looked so far.

We're all in this together moms. We share each others joy & sadness, triumphs & tragedies, excitement & loneliness. I am so grateful for it!

we left to go out of town yesterday til tuesday was afraid a letter would come while we are gone...I hope there is 1 there when we get back my birthday is thursday it would be the best birthday present I could get!!!

My timeline sounds exactly like yours, SandraG. I just have not received any call. My son is in the same Div 056. I did get a very long letter yesterday. First one he has been able to write. Told me everything from arriving on the 13th up to the 24th. He has learned a lot in 2 weeks.

I sure do wish for a call, I am staying hopeful.

That sounds a lot like the letter we received Friday. Hopefully next weekend will be our weekend for calls. They will have completed 3 weeks by then. Here's hoping...

I Have Not Received Call Just 1 Letter Sounds Good Can't Wait to see him And Hold Him!!!!!

My SR is in Div 055 he arrived on Nov. 12th, we got the scripted call that night, the box on the 15th, form letter on the 18th, phone call on the 23rd...letter from him on the 27th and again yesterday (I threatened him about writing! Lol!) He says they are working on communication and team building. He said he is loving it and everyone is very nice. He mentioned several fellow SRs in his letter, but so far I have not been able to match anyone up! Can't wait to see him! I have three friends whose sons and daughter have all gone through Navy bc in the past year. It really helps to find people at home to talk to in addition to this site.

Hey Kristie70  My son is also on Ship 11 Div 055.  He mentioned in his letter several friends he has made and one who he will be visiting with for the adopt a sailor day on Christmas.  wonder if our sons could be friends?  My son also mentioned it is not so bad and he seems to be adjusting well so far!

I am glad your son is making friends too and adjusting. I wasn't to worried about mine because he did a year of college, but you never know! It sounds like they are starting to build their team! I got another letter today! I told you I threatened him! Lol! He was asking for some addresses of friends from home, so my letters may slow down! I hope not.

Hey Kristie  My son also went to college for 1 and a half years.   Disliked it and always want to join the Navy.  Sounds like our sons have some things in common.   I have received 2 hand written letters so far and that last one had me laughing.  He was talking about the showering conditions!

Hope we all get calls today!

I got a call at 7pm last night. He said he is going to call again Monday at 5pm. Wonder why he is getting so many calls home. Not complaining though. He sounded better than his last letter. He was struggling last week. Hesaid he was just having a bad day.

My SR said that Saturday's call was an "extra" call?! I am hoping that means they are doing especially well! I have a friends whose daughter went through GL in August and she only called 3 times while she was there total. So happy they are getting a couple more calls in there!
