OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Got a call today and what a relief!!! She said many are sick (probably from the shots). Their division 907 is starting to work together as a team. Says it is really hard but she is pushing through it!!! Will be carrying the MD flag

My son broke out in hives a little on his neck. He said it was shot overload, he's fine now. He told me he will be the one greeting people during PIR. He said, " Mom, whatever you do don't hug me or say anything or go crazy. Just nod, say hi and move along". He said he could get in trouble if we do. I need a muzzle and a straight jacket.

Received our second call home. He sounds tired but doing ok, only a bit of a sore throat. Several changes in division leadership, but they are all improving. Our son who went through last year said that is typical. They will perform at the 12/13 PIR in addition to their own. Supposed to get another call Tues.

Ok, I am just getting the hang of this Navy Moms thing. Glad to have it. We missed our son's first call last week, left the cell phone at home and felt terrible that we didn't have it with us when he called. We consoled ourselves with the message he left which we were able to share with his sisters. But he called us again today and since we have been keeping our phone glued to our bodies everywhere we go now, we were able to talk with him. Yay! He said the letters are really important, so we all need to make sure family and friends send letters to our SRs. It sounds like graduation will be something pretty special. Our son will be participating in the drum line, the big payoff to us for all those years of lessons. I am looking forward to seeing the whole ceremony and giving our young man a tearful congratulatory hug, as well as meeting all of you. It sounds like they got some snow already, I'm sure there will be plenty by the time we get there.
