For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Hello everybody! Just received call from my son Ship 11 Div 055! He sounds fine. Says he is going with a friend for adopt a sailor and the arrangements have already been set up. I think the friend is from Chicago. Anyone on this site from the area? and plan on visiting for Christmas?

I would like to have a chaplain speak to my son about a loss we had in our family. I spoke to my son tonight and gave him the bad news. He was devasted. I just want to make sure he gets the emotional support he needs while he grieves in bootcamp. Does anyone know how to get him some help?

mrodr12 post this comment on the main page for PIR 1 10 14 and diannep, one of the senior moms on the site, may be able to help you. Going through the red cross is how we notify our soldiers of death and maybe this is also how you would ask for chaplain services. I am not quit sure. You also might contact his local recruiter and ask them if they could give you someone to contact. Hope this helps! So sorry for your loss.

Has anyone recieved a phone call today? I am hoping for one! He told me in his letters that he thought they might be able to call yesterday but they must not have been able to.

Hello ProudNavyBlue#1 I received a phone call yesterday evening and my son is from the same ship and Div as yours. Hopefully you will get one today. Maybe they split them up and some get to call on Saturday and some on Sunday. I will be praying for you to get a call today!

Hi everyone! Looks like a bunch of you are getting snow today. Our SRs certainly are.
We got a call yesterday! I say "we" like I am a group, but as it turned out I missed the call (because I was in the car rocking out), so he turned around and called my aunt - whose house I was headed to watch the game (congrats to my FSU Seminoles ACC Champions!!!). Glad he got to talk to her so now I have info from another perspective. he got his ingrown toenail fixed. - they actually removed the entire nail (ewww) and he got two days light duty while it healed. He says it is bitterly cold, but they have the kids bundled up so good that the only thing that got cold was his eyeballs.
He did say they were not getting mail as regularly as we have been sending letters. Between me and my aunt, we've written at least six letters and he said he has only received two. Does anyone know is this a function of having to train someone to do the mail? He said he thinks "they are hiding the mail", but then he also thought they microchipped everyone with the peanut butter shot. Don't worry - my son has a very dry sense of humor. He makes me laugh and I miss him so much!
Oh - and he did tell my aunt he thinks they will be able to make more phone calls on Monday. keep those phones close! -
