I am hoping to connect with moms who have a son or daughter who arrived at bootcamp on
December 4th. I received the I arrived at camp safely call so far and she said I would get another call in about two weeks. I'm new to this site and am still trying to navigate and get as much information as possible and missing her terribly. I can't wait to get a letter so I can write. Just hoping to connect with someone espically with the holidays coming and her birthday as well, not being able to share that with her is so much harder then I ever anticipated.

Big hugs to you too... And I'm going to work on the FB group right now, considering we are ALL going thou the same thing it will be nice not feeling guilty about venting or bringing others down because of my own grief.. I call it grief because it's the only emotion that comes close to what I'm feeling right now...

My son also arrived on the 4th. He left from Colorado. I saw your post and ran down to the mailbox. Ahh, nothing yet but maybe tomorrow since your much closer to GL. Ive set up writing schedules for his siblings and myself so he should receive a letter every day. One mom even posted that her son who arrived the same day, was assigned to a division with a PIR date of 01-31. I'm hoping there will be plenty of tickets so we can all attend. The recruiter said this is the smallest group of the year and he went through at this time of the year also and had ten family members there. Cant wait to hear from him but Im forced to be patient, which is not my strong point!

bobbij1026, which airport out of michigan? My son left from michigan on the 4th also.
Detroit metro, yours?
My son left out of Grand Rapids.
Okay moms ( and dads if there are any) my FB name is Bobbi Jo Bohr-kenny, please ad me, I have created a group w/ my FB page for only us navy moms so others aren't able to see what we are discussing. I would love any any all requests, plus this site is great but it's a bit confusing. FB is a little easier ( at least for me) . Anyone agree?

Facebook would be easier since I am on there ALL the time. I know it is sad. LOL

Yep, me too... Best internet network ever!

My son must have arrived with her. He said there were about 50 who showed up at O'Hare and came up together. I think the holidays will be tough since he was out of state with his dad for Thanksgiving. He got back the day after Thanksgiving and left the next Tuesday am for MEPS. I'm hoping that as time goes on and with writing with him, it will be easier.

Saw this on another conversation... So fitting.. Comment by A's_momma_Erin S02-D911 PIR 1/24 yesterday
To all the mommas and papas who are still waiting...
Let it Glow
Oh the missing my child is frightful
But the Pride I feel's delightful
And I think I've lost all control,
Let it Glow, Let it Glow, Let it Glow

The tears for me aren't stopping
And I've got tissues for sobbing
My blue can`dle flame does glow
Let it Glow, Let it Glow, Let it Glow!

When I finally get my call
How I'll never ever leave my phone
And I'm trying hard not to bawl
Now I don't feel sooo alone

My tears are finally drying
And my cheeks hurt from my smiling
But no matter how far you go
Let it Glow, Let it Glow, Let it Glow!
