Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

New To The Navy
My son will be heading out to his new adventure on Dec 4th. I have no clue as to what to expect. I do know that he will be able to call home for to say he has arrived and he is safe and secure. I know nothing else of what will be going on. My oldest sons are Marines and we had a matrix to follow. We knew exactly what was going on from day to day, week to week. Is there anything like that from the Navy or are we supposed to be in the dark the entire time? I don't even know when to expect graduation. I figure he will graduate on either January 24th or January 31st depending which they consider week one of training. Anyway, if anyone can give me any info I would appreciate it. BTW the recruiters didn't even know about this website. It would be nice if they did and promoted it. I know how moms are as my wife was still alive when our other sons joined and the marine website for new families helped a lot.

Arrival and What Happens at the RTC will tell you what to expect. I agree, let the recruiter know about this site and especially the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for.... Some recruiters give out a lot of misinformation--there are some good ones who do keep up with changes, but many don't.
PIR will either be 01/31/2014 or 02/07/2014 depending on when his division forms since he is arriving on a Wednesday.

My son left yesterday, the 4th, also. We got our call from him at 12:30 this morning. They said they were keeping them up all night. As a mother I am having a hard time with all of this.

My Daughter Is leaving today December 10th. We are at the MEPS with her waiting for swearing in. It seems like a lot of "hurry up and wait".;
