I am hoping to connect with moms who have a son or daughter who arrived at bootcamp on
December 4th. I received the I arrived at camp safely call so far and she said I would get another call in about two weeks. I'm new to this site and am still trying to navigate and get as much information as possible and missing her terribly. I can't wait to get a letter so I can write. Just hoping to connect with someone espically with the holidays coming and her birthday as well, not being able to share that with her is so much harder then I ever anticipated.

Jen Riley's Mom, my son arrived to Chicago airport and also had to wait around several hours for more recruits and then arrived on base late in the night. Was it late when your son got there? I bet our sons were on the same bus from the airport.
My sons flight was delayed over an hour so they were probably waiting for the Detroit flight to come in. It will be nice to find out if hey all know each other.

Guess what ladies.... I received both of their boxes today. I am one happy momma. Step 1 down....ready for step 2....the Form Letter. My son left on the 4th so....yalls are coming if you havent recieved it yet.

Awww I'm so excited for you :) I'm sure it was difficult, but also comforting to be one step closer. I'm sending you a big hug and keeping my fingers crossed that my daughters will come sometime this week, we had a few snow storms over the past few days so I'm sure it's slowing things down a bit. Thank you for the update it's helped me to keep my chin up

Hi, there!  I know how you feel.  My son arrived the same day and, like your daughter, he won't be here for his birthday or Christmas either.  I try to look at it in stages.   We got his box of things yesterday, so the letter will be next.  Once I get that, I can write to him and that will be comforting for me to be able to communicate with him.  It's been a week and every day I feel a little better, but I do have my moments, like this morning, I burst out crying when I heard a Christmas carol on the radio on the way to work :'(.

My daughter will be coming home from college in less than a week and she will be here over the holidays, so, even though we will be missing my son, at least she will be here to console Mom & Dad during that time.   I am thinking that PIR will be about a week after she goes back to school. Luckily, I have a busy job and have to focus on that during the week.

Do you have any other kids at home?  Keeping busy with friends and family can help take your mind off things.   I tell myself that this is temporary and we will see each other next month.  That kid will get the biggest hug of his life!

Stay strong for your girl, Mom!

Hi MattsMom, I still haven't received the box yet or letter. Do you mind me asking what state your from? I'm in Pennsylvania so between the snow and distance things might be a little slow. I've heard some moms who have children that arrived to BC on the 4th received word that thier PIR is Jan 31st. I have 4 children total two are still home so it helps some. They think I'm a little crazy due to my emotions, it is harder with the holiday fast approaching and she won't be here for her birthday. I also have a busy work schedule, but the hardest times are the evenings. I also have difficulty navigating this site, connecting with other moms has really helped :) I love sharing with them and take comfort that she may be getting to know some of the children of the moms I've connected with.....The world suddenly feels a little smaller. Taking it day by day is all we can really do. Hugs to you and your family I look forward to getting to know all the moms :)

We live in CT.  I have seen that some parents have gotten an additional call since the first 'I'm here' call, so that is great news.  According to everything I've heard, you'll get the box fist, then the letter.  The letter can take up to 2 weeks, so that's what I'm expecting.  If it comes sooner, that will be great, but I am not getting my hopes up.  This time of year, there is so much mail that a delay is expected.

I received my box yesterday and a few of the moms who have kids that arrived on the 4th received thier letters today :) So far they have PIR dates of Jan 24th and Jan 31st When my daughter called on the 4th she said I would receive another call in about two weeks but I carry the phone everywhere! I just can't wait to get letters in the mail I hate the thought of her not having anything this Sunday

Recruits can only write on Sunday, but Mail Call is every weekday (M-F) once the RMPO has been trained. See Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit. That first call can be at 2 or 3 weeks or before or after, See Phone Cards and Phone Calls.

daughter also arrived at camp on the 4th mine is at great lakes

Hi Maybe our daughters are together :) That would be awesome! What state are you from if you don't mind me asking? I'm in Pennsylvania. Have you received a letter with a PIR date yet?
