Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 051 and 052

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Crazy to think that your son is afraid of letting you down, but I know our son feels the same way.  They have come so far and accomplished so much, but I know that they don't have much time to dwell on what they've already done!  I hope your son's back feels better soon, and that it isn't anything serious!  Praying!

Thanks Libertythruthem, all of our loved ones need prayers. So Fireworks if they are working on live firing this week then that means they are in week 4 according to the week by week schedule? So happy you received a letter, they sure are special!

His letter said "It's getting a bit easier now, our RDC's have relaxed a bit and occasionally play music for us, and they'll joke around now too. Starting tomorrow (this past monday. He wrote this on the 8th) we get busy and start the fun stuff. Simulated fire, live fire, seamanship, and I think fire fighting too."  He says they started with 88 recruits and are now down to 76. One of his jobs is to clean the rack of people leaving the division and there have been several that he has been sad to see go.

Fireworks, thanks for sharing! I hope to get a letter from my son today. I have not heard from him since I got a letter last Thursday. I am anxious to know how he is doing. I just passed around my tablet so the rest of our family could read your post! :D

Boy, sad to think so many have left. Thank you for the update. I really wish my son would give me more detail. Haven't heard from him this week yet.....I am anxious to know how the academic testing and inspection went last week. I guess they were told that about 80% fail the first inspection. T said it wasn't a problem at this point....would just mean more PT.

I wish my fiance would have told me how it went too, but he didn't mention anything really about boot camp in the latest letter.  I can tell he is starting to like it more

Hang in there Ericakk81, I think sometimes we just have to live vicariously (sp) through each others letters...so much easier to say today than yesterday. You are in my prayers.

thank you, only three more fridays until PIR

We got a letter this morning! My son is doing great! He passed his DEP test and all his physical testing and got moved to an E2. He is also incharge of the mail for the division. He said the worst part of basic has been two root canals...love it!

Ginger Matt's Mom, your son sounds like he is doing great! That's got to be so good to hear! :D

Libertythruthem, it is such a relief! Every time someone posted something about a SR crying or failing I was thinking it was my son. I know he can do this, I just have to have more faith.
Only another mom will get this...After I got the letter, I was so happy. My other son, was like 'Mom, you didn't win the lottery'; all I could think was, Yes I did:)
