For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

trying to figure out BAH!!
So me and my husband just moved into Lincoln military housing in Norfolk. I know that they will take Bah out of his check, but do they take it of both checks or does it all come out of one? I've asked so many people, but I keep getting different answers :(

I'm asking will they take the money out of his first of the month check, or the check that comes on the 15th. He's the only one in the Navy

Does your housing take all of your BAH or do you live in one that takes partial? If it takes all of your BAH it will take it out of both checks since BAH is split between both checks. I'm not sure if your housing only takes partial.

They take it out of both. Basically, they put the BAH in his check and take it out again. So his middle of the month check and end of the month checks should be about the same. You can talk to the folks at the Housing Service Center to get more details.

Technically, it doesn't really matter. Since you're living on base, you just need to know to never count on getting any BAH money...look up how much he gets paid for his rate, and that's about how much you'll be getting. You'll see on his LES that BAH was added in and then subtracted, but it's just a technicality that you can ignore unless you ever move off base.

it splits in both payments. We just moved here as well! :) neighbors. His check came in and I saw his pay basically cut in half so thats how they do it here.
