I am hoping to connect with moms who have a son or daughter who arrived at bootcamp on
December 4th. I received the I arrived at camp safely call so far and she said I would get another call in about two weeks. I'm new to this site and am still trying to navigate and get as much information as possible and missing her terribly. I can't wait to get a letter so I can write. Just hoping to connect with someone espically with the holidays coming and her birthday as well, not being able to share that with her is so much harder then I ever anticipated.

My son arrived on 12/4 as well. His box came yesterday and I appreciate knowing that I was not alone in not knowing where to write. I was able to get the address from his recruiter. I look forward to going through Moms BootCamp with you all. My son is Div 077

Join PIR 01/31/2014 TG 12 to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.  Divisions 077 and 078 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.  There will later be a discussion within that group for the two divisions.

Wait on the form letter before sending letters though. Yes, that is the PIR date for that division.

Hi Lemon Thank You for all the helpful information you given to me over the past 10 days...... I don't know how I would begin to navigate without all the help you've provided and I refer back to your posts as things come up. I apologize if I haven't said thank you for the past replies my brain is truly on overload between the emotions and having to try and learn how the process works and always fear of missing something important and trying to retain it all. Its just so much I'm sure I've asked the same questions in a million different ways. I don't know how you are able to reach out to all the moms and help them through but this mom is grateful Thank You :)

Thank you for the kind words. I am so glad I can help.

Hi DomsMom I've not received my daughters info yet but I'm guessing she will be in 077 or 078 :) I look forward to getting to know you and sharing this process. I've managed to meet some amazing moms already and a Facebook group has been created to allow us to share information about our children and it's really been a blessing refer back to bobbij1026 replies within this discussion she's provided information on how to join in via Facebook if anyone reading this is interested we all have children that arrived to bootcamp on the 4th it's been so amazing to learn about each family's sailor and know someone else is feeling the same way at the same time. it's a joy when they have news to share about their loved one and to be able to share back as well

Hello, My son should have arrived on the 4th but because of plane delays he got there on the 5th. Yesterday I got the notice from fedex for the box and went down after hours and retrieved it. Dad got the letter and I just put a letter in the mail to my son this afternoon. Funny thing about the box.... It didn't have half what I thought would be coming back. no shoes, no backpack and he had a second set of cloths with him becuase of the plane delay. I had taken him some clean ones to the hotel and 2 extra sets of shorts so my son and 2 other recruits travelling with him. They wanted to enjoy the swimming pool at the hotel one more time. We are in Washington state. So I would think you will be seeing a letter and box very soon. So, here's the kicker I don't understand. Graduation is set for 1/31/14 but that is exactly 8 weeks from the day of arrival. I thought it was going to be 9 weeks since they needed the extra time for processing. Getting confussed, but I received the information from his dad, so who knows how accurate that is. I have asked my son to confirm the date for me. We also have a birthday 1/9 that we will be missing. I feel you on that. Hope you start seeing signs from your's soon.

It's 9 Fridays, which is the average. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). Join PIR 01/31/2014 TG 12 to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR. I also invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and to check out the  other Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there.

What division is he in?

Hi Lemon I received my letter today :) I so excited to be able to send mail. My daughter is in Ship 09 Division 76 With a PIR of Jan 31st. What is the best way to connect with others moms in that Division?

Join PIR 01/31/2014 TG 12  to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.  Divisions 075 and 076 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.  There will later be a discussion within that group for the two divisions.

BTW, a mom has received a form letter for Division 076 (Divisions have 3 digits) stating PIR is 02/078/2014, which is wrong. PLEASE let others know to write to their loved ones and make sure that everyone gets the word out that PIR is 01/31/2014 and not 02/07/2014.

Hi Jenabug I also received my daughters box yesterday I'm hoping for the letter tomorrow to find out the division :) I don't know what happened with all of his things but I did hear they could donate so maybe he decided to do that, though I can't say why some stuff came back and some didn't Maybe it all wouldn't fit? LOL I would love to hear about it when you are able to start getting letters :) Mine was stuffed to the brim with everything Boots, purse clothing and her coat, even her study sheets came back. I also received a tag that said Navy crew socks LOL she hates crew socks so I'm thinking she may have been trying to lift my spirits or maybe it just fell in. it certainly made me smile through all of the tears. In reference to how long Lemon's post and link is very helpful I'm feeling pretty positive we will be sharing the same graduation date and I look forward to getting to know you and hearing more about your son, our children are most likely together training :)

Hi SamsMom,

We got the letter today, it was sent on Tuesday.  My son is in div 912.  Your letter should be on the way :)

So I have this interesting story.  I got up this morning and said 'It's Friday the 13th, it's my lucky day'  I was doing some shopping this afternoon and another woman in the store randomly asked my opinion about a purchase she was making for her son. During the conversation, I mentioned my son just left for Navy boot camp. Coincidentally, her son had been in the Navy a few years ago.  She told me not to worry, that he was in good hands.  As we were talking, we found out that my son was training for the same position her son had trained for.  Then I said, "His name isn't Matt, is it?"  Her son is Matt, as well. It was like a divine intervention to run into this lady and she gave me such encouragement.  It really made my day!

1 down 7 to go!  Take care!

That is a great story.

I left a link on your My Page for info on 900 Divisions.
