Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 071 and 072

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My daughter is in Div 071 also. She said she is only one of two women in that Div so likely our kids have worked out together. She said lots of IT because they have a pretty challenging group of people.

I finally got a CALL!  Hope you all get calls today....keep your phone nearby!!!  He sounded great, said after getting shots it got a fever, but some of the others got sicker :(  They are on day 1-4. His biggest complaint is still being sleep deprived, lights out not being until after 11:30.  He wouldn't tell me his job, just that I would find out when i got his letter.  I'm soooo relieved.  He got to talk to my husband too and they chatted alot about military ranks...they have to learn ALOT!  Thank God for keeping their spirits up and tough!

I also got a call a little while ago.  Like Shelly's son, he is also sleep deprived.  Hopefully they can get some tomorrow when they have holiday routine.  He said he has passed the swim test and the 10 foot jump into the water test.  They have also had some written tests, but they don't know the results yet.  He said they haven't gotten much mail yet (it's probably sitting somewhere in a big pile!).  Still sounds upbeat.  Said it is snowing!  I told him I have the air conditioning on because it is about 84 degrees outside!

lol  air conditioning.  It's -6 where I am, but I will be in Miami next weekend :)  I'm glad others are getting calls!  My son said the same about his written test and that his first PFA was cancelled in the middle of it for some reason so they will all have to retake it.  Did your son tell you if he got assigned a job?

No, he didn't say whether he got assigned a job.  He did say that the other group they train with did something that caused the first PFA to be cancelled.  I told him that I was corresponding with you and where you are from.  Maybe our boys will figure out who each other is!   -6! Boy I sure don't miss that.  I remember the winter of my senior year at SLU it got down to 40 below.  The cars wouldn't start because the antifreeze was only good for 20 below!

Yes, I'm not sure what happened with the PFA, my son didn't really spill the beans...he just said he was in the middle of his run, on lap 9 when they cancelled it.  I can't wait to get to some sunny warm weather for a little bit :)

I got a nice call yesterday on his birthday! It was so nice to hear his voice! He is doing well and loves every minute of it! I can say how happy that call made me, I really needed to hear from him!

Hey, y'all. My son is on this ship. Div 72. He will be on a sub. I got his box and form letter and yesterday what a great surprise. He got to call me. We spoke for 30 min. He is doing well but pretty homesick. We are from Houston, TX.

Hello, our SR is in div 72 also, arrived Dec 3rd from Southeast Idaho. We got a call yesterday from him, been a long 12 days! He is tired too but hanging in there...he is excited for PT.
Welcome to the new moms! Mind if I add you as friends emdogg and proudmama?

Yes, that would be great. Thanks Shelly.
