For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

My son didn't find out until about a week before PIR that he was leaving Saturday morning. We spent Fri night with him, they have to get back at a certain time on Fri evening, so allow for traffic. Then they shuttled him to O'Hare at 4 a.m., some others went to Milwaukee airport, he didn't know which airport until about 4 days before. We met him at the USO at 8 a.m., he was able to get us a security pass, and we spent the day with him at the airport. His flight wasn't until 4 p.m. All I can say is be flexible, and enjoy this new life and the roller coaster ride that is life in the Navy.

Thank you, such an emotional roller coaster! He's moving into week 3; spoke on Sat. How long has your son been at Nuke, whew, that worries me too!

My son graduated boot camp 12/06/13 and had to be at the airport by 00:30 am on 12/07/13 or 12/08/13 to leave for Goose Creek, SC, though I don't know what time the actual flight was. We weren't able to make it to graduation because of the weather. He's now at Goose Creek waiting for enough students to begin a new class. They will let him borrow against future leave to be able to come home for over a week during the holidays. YIPPEE!!!!! I had to mail his cell phone/laptop to Goose Creek since I wasn't able to be there to give it to him at the airport.

I just double-checked my cell phone records, he shipped out 12/07/13 when his graduation was 12/06/13.
