Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 073 and 074
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

I also had a call from my son today as well. he sounded tired but okay. That is so awesome:)))) he is ship 14 and division 073
Jerrysmommadonna: Our boys are in the same division!
Pleased to meet you! Have you begun making plans for PIR?
Hello Ladies! My son is Division 74 and his wife just got her first call from him yesterday. She was so excited she could barely tell me what he said. :-) He seems to be doing great, making good friends and getting in shape. When she told me he was on laundry duty for 95 guys I couldn't help but laugh! Wonders never cease. :-) I just made my reservation for PIR at the Navy Lodge Great Lakes...room rate of $66/nite. As of yesterday he had not received any of our letters yet, but his wife sent the first four to the Processing Center by mistake.
My son called this past Saturday, but we missed the call. :( miss him lots. He is in Div 74 also! Awaiting any letters. Already got his box with clothes and cell phone. We are so proud of him and all these fine SR's ! Looking forward to PIR. Its going to be cold!
Hello everyone, my son Jorday is on ship 14 divison 74. Its great to be able talk with other parents whose kids are on the same boat! I got a call from him on Saturday. It was only 3 minutes but it was great to hear from him.
Hi! I'm slmomma! Our sons are on the same boat! How are you handling everything? Are you going to PIR?
Hi. im trying to get my flight plans made for pir. I'm flying from fla. Definitely will be weather shock. Have you received any letters yet? I have not but I am waiting patiently for my first one. My son sounded good but sad when we had our quick chat. I hope everything is ok.
Sorry for the delay. We will be going this Thursday hopefully to make ours. Our oldest son is still trying to decide if he can go. We're coming from south ms. So yes culture shock. No letters yet :( and he called this past Saturday but we missed it. Crazy story. On the voice mail he sounded good but tired and more mature. I hear they only mail letters on sundays or mondays. But they get letters everyday. At least that's what we heard..... what has your SR signed up for.
Im trying to make plans for graduation. I wish I knew how long the kids would get to spend with us. I am thinking of flying in on thurs and flying out on Saturday. I dont know if they will get to spend Saturday with us though or get shipped out to their schools. I don't think we will find this out until right before we get out there. Does anyone else have any information on this?
Most of them will be flying out on Saturday. But if unable to get flights, they will fly out on Sunday. You can visit at the airport with your sailor until departure time (take ID for an airlines gate pass). They are bussed together to the airports in the wee hours of Sat. morning to wait for flights. First ones usually leave out around 6 a.m. but some won't be leaving until later in the afternoon/early evening. If possible, book your own return Sunday just in case so you don't miss time with your sailor. They won't know actual flight arrangements until right before PIR (sometimes not until PIR day).
