For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 051 and 052
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

I am glad you are able to talk talk to him so often. It is also good to hear that he has started looking to the future. I mentioned your sons situation when I was on the phone with my son (div 51) and he knew who your son was. He feels bad that he was not able to keep going but was glad to hear he was improving. I hope he gets home soon.

Ok, I decided to just try to post this info in case others would like to know. I am on my tablet, so copying links in crazy for it to do.....and wasn't sure if it is allowed on here?
If you go to North Point Church, Winthrop Harbor, IL, on facebook, you will find photos of our division. Some photos look like they are of church members for Christmas, but if you look though them; there will be pics of recruits in those, too. Please let me know if you don't find it.
We found this info from someone who has a son in our divisions (051-052) on the PIR 01-10-14 NAVY BOOT CAMP facebook page. :)

I found it but it looked like the post dates were from 2011-2012. I didn't see anything from this year. I thought our group stayed at the banquet hall with the VFW the entire time. They seemed to have a great time. My son was able to call several friends and of course he called us and texted several times. It was great to hear from him.

We saw photos of our SR at this particular church, so not sure about the VFW. We found them via facebook, but when we went to that church's regular internet site (not on facebook); they don't have this year's pictures posted there yet.

Our SR got to facebook us from that church yesterday morning and told us to look for pics of him there later.....maybe the guys were divided up?

That may be the case. There were quite a few female recruits at the VFW thing as well. I thought it was just div 51-52, but my son wasn't sure what division the girls were in. He said that our ship is not integrated.

Ok. I will keep looking. Can't seem to get the church's website to work right on my tablet. I have a lot of pictures from the Facebook page "sailors for Christmas".....the is the VFW sponsored adopted group my son was in. There was even a local news report done and my son was caught on that camera. It was so good to see him smiling.

Thanks. My son said that the division was split up but that he thinks everyone had a great time no matter where they were. I wish there was a better way to thank the people who made this day memorable for our SR. Was told that it started snowing there around noon and they had about 5 inches by the time they were traveling back to base. The busses could only go about 35 mph. They were supposed to be in the compartment by 2000. The group had to run from the chapel parking lot through the snow. They got into the compartment at 1959......but they weren't late! He said that will be a memory not soon forgotten.
