Our year starts off with a mixed military group in Africa .
Hot and dusty is how it was described to me by my POC . He leads a group of Marines, Airmen, sailors and soldiers who provide communications all over the Eastern side of Africa.

Their WISH list is really very simple .They still have another 8 months in their hot ,humid and very dusty conditions . With 8-10 hours of sunshine a day they are not in need of Winter woollies that's for sure ! The majority of the personnel are married and miss family comforts ,of a letter or painting from their kids . They have plain white metal walls in their accommodation and offices ! For most part French power units of 220v , so not sure how the request for coffee makers will work out . Other than adapters .

Let's show them all some Navy Mom love ,as their pacakages will arrive in Febuary , and help make this deployment go by faster for them .

CLEANING PRODUCTS. This was first and foremost on his list . The sand and dirt gets into EVERYTHING . So ANYTHING to help with DUSTING !!!!

I'm in! I'll start gathering things. Cleaning supplies for sure! I saw Valentine and St Patrick things out the other day. Bath and Body Works had sanitizer on sale after Christmas so I need to go find a store and see what I can find.

From donations that I have received, I have puzzle books, Suduko, cleaning wipes, and air fresheners!

Yesterday at the Tanger outlet we got a great deal at Bath and Body works on the purse sized hand sani soaps. Half price all flavors.there is also a mom working on a contact with Kuerig for donations of coffee maker/ coffee.
I got this in yesterday from our group and wanted to share with everyone .

Good Morning Sheryl,

The only specifics that we have come up with are:

Coffee - like Dunkin Donuts, Peets, Starbucks - most of us prefer the regular or dark blends / roasts, and definitely with caffeine.

Hard candies or gummies - Lifesaver brand and all flavors.

Dove Liquid Body wash - for one of my Female Airmen

UNO Card games.

Thanks so much.

Tim

They sound like my kind of people! I like all of that stuff as well! On the coffee do they need it to be for the Kuerig?

I found a deal on amazon for Crystal Light To Go Packs for an extra 20% off coupon so I will be ordering those as soon as I make sure that the price is cheaper there. I donate blood platelets twice a month and one of the rewards they give is points. You can use them for T-shirts, jackets, etc but they also give you the option to get gift cards that I didn't realize I could get. I didn't really want the other stuff so I cashed in some of my points and received two $25 gift cards to amazon! I help with the blood supply, I order things our heroes need and I use smile.amazon and MAS gets a donation! I call that a win, win, win!

I went to Bath and Body works yesterday. The sales assoc was awesome.  I got everything for 75% off + she gave me another 33% off because I told her I was donating to Molly's adopt a sailor!  So, I bought a bunch of stuff! Yipee! I also have a bunch of puzzle books, dominos, playing cards, etc.  I did pick up individual pack drink mixes of lemonade and Hi-C.  Lastly, I picked up some cleaning wipes and air freshners from big lots ($1 per pack!) + they had some name brand peanut butter - cherry chip and granola flavor for $1 a jar so I picked that up too!

That's awesome! I love when the stores give that extra help!

Way to go you . I'm not good for giving blood ..it's more a case of them taking it literally kicking and screaming :) I'm a fainter always have been .
But the smile Amazon option is something I'm asking friends and family to do all the time now .its great to get what you want and give some more .
You are really getting in the swing of things Huskerfan . Thank you .

I'm at work looking about thinking what can I get , but Kim and Dee know there isn't the need for my things . But maybe some April Cornell dish clothes would cheer up the cleaning process !

Are we sending pillowcases to this adoption??  What about cooling neck scarves??

I have a bunch of cooling scarves in navy and yellow if you want me to send them

Thank you Marlo I'm sure they would be a welcome addition to their wish list :)
