Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 055 and 056

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Good for you deb....my son is going to be adopted out by one of his friends in the unit.   What are the initials of the friend you are adopting on Christmas?

No phone call and surprisingly no letter here. Maybe today they will call.

Received letter on Thursday but no phone call today.   I heard from another mom that they may not get to call anymore until they complete Battle Stations and get to call that day to let us know they have become a sailor.   this was posted on the main blog for PIR graduation 1-10-14.

My son is going to be an adopted SR for Christmas, is there any information I can give to find out who he might be spending his day with? I have talked to him but he didn't know much information. I just want to give this family a big thank you and a hug for reaching out and being there for him.
Does ur last name begin with an E?

No "E".  I did get a call from my SR Christmas afternoon.  Turned out he went with a group to a church.  I have no idea which church tho.  He sounded good and ready for Jan 10, as we all are.  Thanks for responding!!

I'm adopting my son and another sailor who's last name begins with an E. Is this maybe anyone here's sailor? I have a fun day planned for them! Plus some down time too.

just got a wonderful call from my sr...merry christmas

Hello fellow Div 056 moms. I just had a 50 minute conversation with my SR. Their division was adopted out by a Lutheran church about 40 miles from base. I can't even begin to tell you how good it was to hear his voice. I haven't talked to him in at just over a month & the difference in his voice is huge. He sounds so confident & grown up. I am so comforted. OK, I drilled him so here's what I know. They just went through Hell Week last week, up by 4 am & didn't hit their racks again until 10 pm each night. They did Drill Inspections yesterday. They passed but did not earn a flag. They can earn a possible 5 points, they need at least 4.1 to earn the flag, they scored 3.97. They were disappointed but were glad to pass. They did their live fire test last Thursday, all passed. They completed Marlinspike which he said was intense but so cool. They did good on it. They have their final PFA this Friday (get those candles lit!) Gas chamber & fire fighting are also coming up next week. He said because they are a push division they only get one chance to do almost everything so they will be doing the actual gas chamber but for fire fighting it will just be instructional classroom time, no hands on. BattleStations are soon! I cannot give you the specific date on here but I have sent it via private message to our PIR contact mom. You can PM her directly or if we are already friends request it from me. Hope I remembered everything. Oh, one more thing. For all you NUKE moms, he said they were told they would be loaded on the bus for transport to the airport at 1 am on Saturday morning following PIR. NMH to all!!! We're almost there!!!

Just got a call from my SR!   He passed the PFA!   He also passed some sort of inspection and for passing both they got to make calls for their good work.   He sounds great....getting ready for last test, Battle Stations and PIR.  Hope everyone gets a call.   Only 12 more days to go!

Nightmystic I guess we just aren't meant to see the pictures. Well that will make it that much sweeter when we get to see them at PIR!

I saw on FB where Div 055 won the Captains Cup yesterday!    Way to go Div 055!
