Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 073 and 074

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Sorry Ladies, I have a correction to an earlier post about my son.  He is Lead Petty Officer (LPO) for Div 074, not "Chief Petty Officer."  I am still learning about all these Navy Acronyms!   My apologies.  Hope you all have a good weekend. :-)

My son is in Div 073, and yes , so excited to get my 3rd phone call!.He is sounding better and more adjusted each time. He says tho that he's gotten only 2 of my letters. Hope to see him soon, can't wait.

Hi, everyone, just found this page. My son is with ship 14, div 073. This is the first Christmas I've spent without him here for the last 20 years and I miss him but trying to stay busy. Mostly it's working... it's going by really fast. Can't believe in less than a month it'll be over. But we are thankful that he will be coming home for A school... well, not home, but he'll be in the same city so hopefully we'll get to see him a little. :)

This was also my first Christmas without my son.  It was really hard.  I didn't get a call on Christmas.I was pretty upset.  . He called on the friday after.  I have done really good at not breaking down on the phone.  I realized that if he had called on Christmas I would have been a blubbering idiot!!  I wish I could say that my son would be closer to home for school.  He will be staying in Great Lakes with all that snow!!  Three weeks from this very moment we will be hugging our babies!!

My son is in ship 14 div 74... I haven't heard from him since the sunday before Christmas. .. has anyone heard from our boys in div 74?

I have not seen anything... but when I talked to my husband last Friday he mentioned that both divisions had been in ALOT of trouble. So hopefully you will get a call when they earn another. Hope both divisions earn another call before battle stations... :)

My son is Ship 14/073 and we have gotten 3 calls so far.  No mention of any trouble with his division.  Everyone from 073 says everything is good!

When we last spoken to our son, he said they were all on track and everything was good...

Was only mentioning what my husband had said in his phone call and wrote about. Said they had failed their first inspection and first test. But who knows. News is always a week behind. Did mention they were getting a little better.

We got a call on 12/27 that lasted 13.37 minutes!  Needless to say, we were thrilled!!

My son who's "Master-At-Arms" said there were a few guys who were having trouble getting with the program, but didn't mention anything about "trouble".  I just hope they stay on track for PIR on 1/24!

We got a Christmas Card, a 1 page letter and a 5 page letter from him (in the same envelope) a couple days later!  I'm so proud of him.  He really seems to be making the best of this experience.

Hubby, my 2 daughters and I cannot wait to see him!

Thanks everyone for the updates! I found out that he was able to call his girlfriend last weekend. He is doing well! Sounds like they might have been upsetting the drill sergeants but they are still getting calls and sending letters. What happens when they get to battle stations? Will they no longer get calls home?
My son just called at 9:05 for 5 minutes because they did good in the inspection. He sounded much better but still can't get used to the food.
