Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 918

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi. How many 918 moms (or others) do we have here supporting our Srs and our ever changing emotions? I cant wait to start meeting everyone in person.

Hi Dittersmom. Glad to be part of the 918 moms!!

Good morning!

Super Cute Bunny Waving

Hello all, I received my form letter from my son yesterday with ship 2 div 918.  I was so excited that I made 30 labels with his address and passed them out!

Nice to meet Texas Sailor Mom. I should make labels. I have them here at the house and could give out to his family and friends. I sent a letter this morning. I will probably put a letter in the mail every other day. SR did that they only get mail on Sundays.

Hello. My son too is with Ship 2 div 918.

Has anyone purchased airline tickets, booked rooms, rent a car yet?  I am still looking.  I had to break the news to my mother that she was not on my recruits list to attend his graduation but his other grandmother was.  Ugh!

Hello ladies. I have not gotten tickets yet. I have gone back and forth. I would love to.buy tickets on SW airlines, which would make the tickets exchangeable, but they are about $120 a ticket more. I am afraid that if I buy the tickets from United something might happen to graduation. We are struggling with spending extra money that we might not have to. We can exchange on United, but there is an exchange fee. We booked a room at the navy lodge.

Hi fellow Navy Moms!  My son is also Ship 02 Div 918.  Received the form letter over the weekend and talked to him last Saturday.  Can't wait to hear from him again.  We live in Indianapolis, so we'll just drive up for gradation.  Has anyone booked rooms yet?  Can't decide where want to stay yet.

Hello. Glad you made it.

Hello Everyone, I have great news to share!  I've been on pins and needles since my son called last Saturday.  He told me that during one of his many physical screenings that a physician thought they heard a heart murmur.  Of all the physicals and dr. visits growing up this was never mentioned.  They flagged him for a special heart test.  He was facing being put back two weeks or coming back home if it was found to be a murmur.  The test was on Tuesday and we just heard from him this morning.  The test revealed nothing but a normal, healthy heart and he is still on track to graduate 3/14!  So thrilled and hoping that there are no more "unexpected" potential setbacks.  We went ahead and booked our flights today.  We'll be flying out of Portland, OR on 3/13.  Looking forward to getting to know all of you as we journey ahead!

My son is in this ship/div. Hope you are all doing ok with the emotional roller coaster we are on. Looking forward to the next call they earn :). Can't wait to get to know you all and then see you at graduation. MomofLP that is great news and a huge weight off your shoulders I'm sure. Here's hoping our SR's are thriving and not too cold. :)
