Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 808 and 809

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining this discussion to answer your questions about the "800" division.

Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

Thank you KLTL I had no idea you could do that!

Just received a phone call tonight!  Things seem to be going well.  It seems they are very tightly scheduled, although some of that schedule is standing at attention for a long time while inspections happen.  (Aspect of training, perhaps.)   Double PT not happening that much for this division, yet.  It may be if there are too many division hits, the 2nd PT is taken away.   Also, there is an emphasis on calisthenics, yet the aerobic (running) may be getting a bit short shrift.  It could be an aspect of the current weather, possibly.  Letters are very appreciated!  Four received so far.  Yay!

I got my phone call last night! He has a cold, but said most of them do. And he usually eats last because they line up short to tall! A very positive call. I feel a hundred pounds lighter:)

Interesting to hear about the line up for dinner by height.  Congrats to you and mutual congrats.  It's so cool to connect with them, and an amazing feeling after that first contact after they've been away for 2-3 weeks.

Thanks to this group for the support! We received a letter and call this week too!  My son is Ship 4 Div 808 too.  We are also counting the days until PIR to get a hug!

JenW2122 Happy you got your call and letter!  Just a great feeling to hear their voice...My son is also Ship 4 Div 808.  Look forward to meeting everyone!

Another mom with a son in Ship 4 Div 808 too. Nice to connect.  We are in Michigan.  Delighted to get a phone call this past Friday!

Has anyone received a letter from their son in div 809? My son is a good writer and I can't imagine him not taking a moment to send me a note. Consequently, I'm getting anxious and worried. And yes, I'm trying to "hang in there"!

Hello Ninjamom,  We received a letter from our son in DIV 809 on Wednesday of this last week (Jan. 29).  I'm sure you will receive a letter soon!  I can tell you that he seemed in good spirits, basic was about what he expected, and best of all, he said the guys in his division were AWESOME!  :)

I imagine they are extra tough on the 800 divisions. I will keep my hope up that I hear from him soon. So good to hear something about the division from your son. Thank you for sharing.

I'm not sure the extra tough applies to 800 division anymore than the others, based on the phone call we received from our 808 div SR.  The schools that happen after BC may be where specialized qualities are tested, based on the choice of speciality or fit.

Overall, I think they want everyone to succeed as long as they made a good choice to be in the Navy and find the place they fit the best connected to their known and discovered strengths.

I hear that the 808 chief is excellent and the commander too.  Group & teamwork seems to  be developing, which will be THE THING, it seems for battle stations to come.

@ NinjaMom... I received letter on Thursday, but no call!
