Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 918

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Yes it is!  He told me that being sent back two weeks would be way worse than being sent home :-)  He just couldn't wrap his brain around that.  I didn't realize how many SRs are sent home or moved to other divisions.  He gave me a ballpark figure of how much this division has changed from their arrival.

MomofLP what airlines did you book on?  I am trying to get tickets booked and have not had any luck.  I can't afford much and sw has booked their cheaper flights.  I Think I am going to be stuck with tickets that I can't exchange if need be.  I can't afford the other tickets, so I hope GOD has a plan that matches my budget.  If SR doesn't graduate for some reason I guess I will be taking a short vacatioin to chicago.  I have never seen it and I wouldn't be able to go see him graduate later, as they don't walk if they miss it with their div.

OH!!  Sorry!! Welcome to our group of ship 02 div 918.   Please let me know what is going if something happens.  My life here is falling to pieces just recently and has nothing to do with my missing SR.  Just life and it seems to me that it is going to take N4M to take care of me and get me on track.  LOL

Hi Dittersmom, we booked through United and were able to find direct flight round trip for $268.00. Not too bad. There will be a fee if we have to change the date but not sure how much that is. We are taking a risk that he will indeed graduate :-). I'm sorry that you are dealing with more than just missing your son! That's tough enough....hopefully, this group will help to keep your spirits up!
We are on flight 1142 (i think) out of Portland. It leaves at 8:35am. We are in seats 32 D, E, F. Are we on the same flight. That would be fun. Have you gotten any letters from your son?
Yes! We are in seats 32 A and B! I made my husband recheck it because I didn't believe it :-). No letters yet. When I last talked to him he was told they wouldn't be able to receive/write letters until this coming Sunday. I look forward to meeting you!

Forgot to tell you that we are flying out of pdx on the 13th as well. I can't wait to meet other N4M ers

MomofLP i am so jazzed that were on the same flights and seats. It should be fun. I have enjoyed writing my son, but frustrated that family is not writing him. I thought he es going to have a huge family support system and letters from our church members, but nothing.
MomofLP where are you staying?
We haven't booked a room yet, hopefully soon. I hear you about the letter writing...I am hoping some of my family will write to him too. My son has a twin brother at home, another brother still in high school, and a sister in middle school. They have each written to him once so far, but not extended family. I wanted to be sure to tell you that when my son told me they could not write letters until this Sunday, he didn't tell me why. I saw on another post that you thought they were in trouble but he didn't say that was why so I am hoping for the best! He did say that their division was really looking out for each other so that makes me feel good.
We booked at the Navy Lodge, have not gotten tickets yet. When I talked to my son last week it didnt sound like they were in trouble just that they missed a meeting and they wouldn't be able to write until this Sunday. He said for me to write him though so hopefully they have been able to read our letters.
Dittersmom and MomofLP I can't believe you guys ended up on the same flight sitting right next to each other. That is awesome! What a blessing!
I couldn't believe it either! Just gave me another reason to be thankful for this resource and meeting everyone here.
