Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 095 and 096
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

I'm not sure my SR knows about it, I actually read about here, this is the post"ment by William in Nashua on September 4, 2012 at 11:34am
They are all referred to as an SR during boot camp, but for nukes at least, they are paid at pay grade E3 right from Day 1 of boot camp. Also their time in grade for E3 is counted from their first day of boot camp. However if they later fail to complete nuclear field A school they face administrative reduction in grade back to E1 and required to pay back the all the extra pay the received as an E3."
Yes that's the test. I spoke with my SR yesterday and he said that he passed his test. i am very proud of him.
My SR told me that he will get a call on 2/26 (give or take 1-2 days). Dont miss the call from your SR! :)
I was just wondering how everyone is doing? Have you received some phone calls? We have received 2 calls besides the security check calls. Any letters? We received 2 envelopes. Is Anyone going to Sarges Meet & Greet? I believe we will be attending. Hope all your SR's are doing well!
Hey KimmyD My SR has been able to call everyone in the family (Me, Dad and 2 Sisters) twice, but i have talked to him a total of 4 times. We have also gotten 2 letters. We are going to try and attend if possible. My SR is doing well, hope yours is too. And to all of the Moms of div 095, my son says they are an awesome group of guys and really great to talk too.
Hey KimmyD -
I am definitely going to Sarge's M & G! I want the info and going takes care of a meal. ;-)) Besides, I'd rather be out than cooped up in a full hotel room. Ha! My daughter is doing great! She has such a positive attitude, she has some kind of leadership position - Ship's Staff / MA??? and says that time is flying for her. I've received 3 letters and several phone calls. Apparently she received an extra because she scored really high on some test and they rewarded the 4 recruits with the extra call (or candy). ;-) We still have the teeth to deal with because removal keeps getting postponed and escalated. She'll be totally knocked out now - at a hospital. A little scary but I'm trying not to fret about it - afterall, I've had wisdom teeth out too. Good luck to you and your SR in all the upcoming events!
WahineMOM,
I am so sorry to hear about your daughters frustration. Tell her to stay positive and don't give up hope on her division.
Tell your daughter that I will "have a word" with my SR and make sure she behaves herself! Although flattering to have her wisdom and maturity recognized, it is a tremendous responsibility for your daughter to have to take on. The Navy looked at her and saw someone with leadership abilities and knowledge to share, when she starts to get frustrated she should take a deep breathe and remind herself that for many of these young girls this is their first time away from home, the first time they have ever held a job, their first steps toward becoming strong women, to becoming sailors. What an honor that she has been chosen to help guide them through this journey! We have faith in her, are behind her, are praying for her and are cheering her on. As rough as it may seem at times she will get through this, she will help to bring our daughters through this and will forever hold a place in their hearts.
