Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I finally booked my flight, hotel stay, and car rental. Making plans for this stuff is very overwhelming!!!!
The following are just things that have occupied my brain during this process of make arrangement to go to graduation. Just VENTING.
Trying to decide what day to come in to the Chicago?
Who is coming to the graduation from the family?
What day to is best to leave?
What time to leave?
What is the best hotel to stay and for the best price?
Extra fees that are hidden before you decide on choosing the one you want, after going through 10 other plans you have to chose from!
Which hotel has a shuttle bus!
Well he be able to get Liberty time on Sunday!
I want to talk to my baby NOW to get some understanding on what's going on!
This process is so frustrating and gives me a headache! But I will be ok. Thanks, cause' I feel better for getting this off my clouded brain.

It does feel good to get things booked. Now I worry about the other stuff again. Will he make it through Hell week and battle stations? Could they be delayed because of a fitness issue? I guess it must just be mom stuff. Back to the no news is good news.

You're right. It does feel good to get that out of the way thou. Yah, never mind us...its them that is worrying about making it through all of those intense physical test. Doing it all with limited access to love ones.

Middle of the Mitten (Michigan). Taking the Amtrak from Grand Rapids to Chicago, Then the Metra and shuttles and taxis.

I feel the same way. I am driving, so that's the easy part. Finding a hotel was my hardest part. I'm so weird about cleanliness and everything and reading reviews is horrible. Then I thiink about all the testing they do and if he will pass. But he sounds confident, so I'm hoping he's good in that aspect! Thankfully, we talked before he left who would be coming for graduation. Just a few more weeks Moms!! We will also be at sarges meet and greet! I can't wait to meet all of you!

I got a letter today! He said he's filling in his size small shirts! Lol, he's 6' and like 135 lbs!! So he's excited to be gaining muscle! He said they won't be calling much anymore becuz they are training and learning a lot! He got his dress blues and he says he look good! Hahaha! He said everyone is doing good. He sounded happy!

My son is tall and skinny too. I bought a few comfortable things for him to lounge in at the hotel. I bought smalls. Hope he did not buff up too much Lol.
He sounded good in his letter too. He was looking forward to this past week with "live fire" and Marlinstrike?
He also stated it is "almost fun". Good to hear.
