Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 808 and 809

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining this discussion to answer your questions about the "800" division.

Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

Same exact situation for us.  Two phone calls so far and one, eagerly enjoyed letter.   The form letter, fill in the blank formats help a lot.

~  Best, EofT

My son is in 809.  I missed his 1st phone call. I was not a happy camper.  But, I had his wonderful voice I could listen to.  He said he would call back in 2 weeks, so I kept the phone close by.   I finally spoke to him on the 9th.  He sounded so grown up.  I have received 3 letters so far.  I laughed through his entire 1st letter.  He had some serious blisters from his boots.  Another recruit who was graduating that week told him to put maxi pads in his boots.  He said it was the best advice he received.  He told me how they sit when using the toilet so they avoid getting one drop on it.  It also gets them off their feet for a minute.  The entire letter was hilarious and he had such a positive attitude for the uncomfortable things.  I cant wait  to put my arms around him and give him the biggest hug!  I am booked at courtyard marriott for the PIR.

Loved your note.  Thanks for the laugh!

Through this website, we (this group) now have quite a list of DIV 808 and 809 family and friends......trouble is, with all of our usernames, how am I going to know who is who at the meet and greet?  Will we have name tags? Will they say, "Hi, My name is HooyahMom" or "Hi, My name is Cabowabo"?

:D

@mtnestr2b ... That's funny! We all do have alias names due to security, we could use both names

Love it!  :)

I like it too. Just joined.... I'm an 808 mom. The meet and greet sounds like a good thing to attend. I grew up in that area...had wedding reception in same vicinity as the event. Wondering if it's the same place!

I think it is a great idea!  I could just bring my dog, Charlie!

2 weeks ago today, we heard from our son who's in 809 division.  Nothing today, has anyone else gotten a phone call?

Hey Deb, my boyfriends in DIV 809! I also got a call a few weeks ago, haven't received one recently. I got two letters last week, and I'm hoping for more either today or tomorrow!

Thanks!  We haven't received any letters but his girlfriend has :)  He did say they have such little time to write only on Sundays and he is the religious petty officer so he's assisting on that day.  If we hear from him, I'll let everyone know.

deb13, I haven't received a phone call since the 3 week call...but I'm not really EXPECTING a call.  Don't get me wrong, I keep my phone with me at all times, but I don't think we can expect a call until after battle stations just before PIR.  If they do get to make a call before then, in my understanding, it would only be a special situation such as a reward.  I didn't receive a letter this week from him either....but like you said, they only get so much time to write; and again, in my understanding, I believe they are in an extremely busy time of their training.  I am hoping we get letters soon!

No calls since 2weeks ago and no additional letters. Hoping to hear something soon.
