My daughter leaves March 4, 2014 for bootcamp. Anyone else's child going then?

I didn't get one yet. I know they get one but then they have to take time and activate them. My daughter keeps telling me you don't need them. I just don't think that is right. I think that my sons girlfriend is giving her one as a gift at our anchors away party on Saturday. I do think it is better to be safe than sorry and have one already activated. I don't know how you are, but a busy week and it's hard to believe they leave this weekend. Better have him dress warm and ship some things back to you. Atleast a hooded sweatshirt.
I got one for him, 1 less thing to do now. I'm such a planner that sending him off basically with just the clothes on his back, is so weird for me. I'm excited for him & can tell he's excited too even for a quiet type of guy. Monday's coming up quick, hard to think this is our last weekend with him for a long time :(

My son leaves on 3/5 for boot camp.  I am so very proud and excited for him.  He is my only child and I will miss him so very much!!  He can't wait to start this new chapter of his life.  GO NAVY!!

MHSMom, my son leaves Mon from San Diego... Where is your son coming from? Im excited for him also!

My son is coming from Salt Lake City.  He will be a master of arms.  One of my sons good friends is at A school in TX to become a Corpsman as well. He just got there, so I am sure he will still be there when your son gets there.  If he needs someone to show him around let me know and I will give you his info ;)

My daughter is leaving from Virginia and will also be a Master at Arms. :) I bet the class up together after boot camp since they are both leaving at the same time. My husband is also a Master at Arms.

Thank you, will your son be going to TX for MA A school?

My daughter is going to Texas for school :)

Yes my son will be going to TX for A school. So glad to meet some parents with their kids heading to the same place ;)

My daughter leaves for MEPS on March 4th but doesn't actually leave for BC until March 5th.

My son also leaves on March 4, 2014. The roller coaster ride of emotions has really kicked in. All the unknown is the worst. I know in my heart this is the best decision he has ever made, but, dang, its hard!!

I totally understand the roller coaster of emotions. I have days where I am totally fine and I have days where I can't get it together. the hardest part is a life that they're going to start where we have no say. Their lives are their own now and it's hard to just let them go. My heart aches the most thinking about how I can't see her or hear her voice and hold her when I need to or when she needs me too. Our family dynamic is forever changing and I'm going to go through grieving process for that. I've already started.I'm just really going to miss her.
