I am so sorry to hear that your daughter is having an emotional start to RTC. That must have been heart wrenching for you. Hang in there momma!! I am sure once the initial transition is through she will find her grounding and be extremely successful!!
I sure hope you are doing ok today. Tough to get a call like that. That is my main fear. We always want to make it better for our kids even though they are grown. I am sure she is doing much better. It was probably just everything at once, unknown, lack of sleep, busy... she probably loved hearing your voice yesterday! Hang in there, she will be fine.
The Division number is typically correct, but sometimes they will change them to a different ship or perhaps the recruit will be chosen for the 900 division while in P-days and so the ship and division numbers both change. See more on that in out Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit.
Stephanie; I had a really hard time last night. It was totally out of the blue. Doing much better tonight. I know it will get better for me and will for you also.
Stephanie and Loralee- I'm sorry you were feeling so lonely and sad. How are you feeling today? Today is the most "normal" I have felt since she left. I have been writing her letters every day so now I am just waiting to find out where to send them. My husband is out to sea this week and my youngest was dog sitting at her friend’s house all weekend so my weekend was pretty lonely, but I kind of wanted to isolate myself so I could deal with it how I needed to. When I'm in front of my youngest daughter I hold it together because I know that no kids want to see their mommy upset. In addition to that, my friends don't really understand it because I had my children young and they had their children later so we are just in different places. So- I used to the time to be sad and work through it. I have already made reservations at the Navy Lodge for the weekend of the 9th and the 16th to make sure that I actually get a room before they sell out. Preparations and letter writing help me feel closer to her.
I am having a hard time really figuring out how this site works so if my responses are slow, I apologize.
Those who arrived at the beginning of last week could have PR on 04/25/2014 or 05/02/2014 and those who arrived at the end of the week could have PIR on 05/02/2014 or 05/09/2014 depending on when their divisions formed. You will have to wait on the form letter to know for sure. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones).
MacksMommy, given her date of arrival, PIR is most likely 04/25/2014 or 05/02/2014. With her division number of 158, I'm thinking probably 05/02/2014, but it could still be 04/25/2014 and have 12 or less divisions in the TG.
Check your My Page.
I now have 4 straight weekends between April 24th and May 11th booked at the Navy Lodge. As soon as I find out when the actual PIR is I will cancel the others. Over kill I know but this is how I function. I am going to leave right after work on Thursday. I'm so excited. I know she is still in her P-Days so I'm jumping the gun a bit but again.......this is how I function. I can't wait till you all find out the date of your Sailors PIR. I can't wait to meet you!!!
