My son is scheduled to leave for RTC from Atlanta, Georgia, on March 12, 2014. Any other DEPpers with that date?

It's getting closer!! My son is so excited! He went to see Lone Survivor, and that fired him up even more. I am scared but so happy for him. We are going to the Cheesecake Factory next Saturday for a family celebration so that he has a week to "work it off" (his weight has been an issue for him). Our journey is soon to begin! Let the hand holding and NMH commence!

Yay! How exciting someone else from Dallas. My son leaves the 11th also.

Thanks so much for the welcome.  My daughter leaves on March 12 from Northern California.  She is so excited and anxious to begin her adventure.  She has big goals and is off to follow her dreams.  Although I will miss her terribly (we have rarely been apart) I can't wait to experience the amazing young woman she is becoming!

My sweet girl leave on March 12th from New Orleans. She is bigger than life & can't wait to start her career in the Navy. Maybe they will meet up @ some point while @ RTC.

Well said. I feel the same way! Hate to loose my baby girl, but looking forward to the changes and happiness she is achieving.

Hi Country Mom!  What part of Northern California?  My son left from the Bay Area the same day and I believe he said there was a female traveling with him. I am wondering if it may have been your daughter!

My son leaves from Charlotte, NC that day as well..his last DEP meeting is tonight. I can't believe it is already almost time!

Okay, we are dropping our son off at his recruiter's office on Tuesday, 3/11...  He will fly to GL either later in the day or the next morning.  Having mixed feelings right now.  I feel proud of him but am really worried about him.  ;(

SeanSMom - I know how you feel! We just dropped our son off at Recruiter's office.  I cried he didn't.  He said "Don't worry mom, we will see each other soon!"  Our children often mistake our tears of joy for tears of sadness.  I have never been more proud than I am at this moment and have the honor of watching him go on his path!  I hope all moms experience that this month and wish you all the best!  He will be at GL tomorrow evening and I shall wait for my phone call.

Thank you SummerRainbow.  I appreciate the encouragement.  I'm just hoping my "proud" feelings outweigh my "worried" feelings tomorrow when we drop him off.  I hope the folks at GL take care of him for me.  :)

My son left from Charleston, SC on March 11 and arrived at RTC... I received my 20 second phone call just after 10pm....

My son left for RTC today. We just got the scripted "I'm here" call. I was doing well before that call, but I was relieved to hear from him. He did sound tired and a little anxious. Now to wait for the "kid in a box" and the address/PIR date letter. How is everyone else doing?
