Its good to hear from other mothers that have a son leaving the same time.  I hope you have a awesome thanksgiving.  I keep thinking this will be the last thanksgiving I will have with him for awhile.  We are also trying to spend some good times together.

I hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving.  This is all very new to me but being this is your second one to leave I'm sure you are trying to spend some special time with him.  good luck with everything I hope you have a wonderful christmas as well.  Its getting closer and I'm getting very sad because I know I will Miss Him so Much.

I hope you had a great time at Great Lakes.  I cant imagine having two in navy.  I have a daughter that is home with me.  And an Older son that is 24 that only lives 40 minutes away.  I hope you also have someone home with you.

Let me know how your trip went.

Kim

My daughter just went to MEPS on Monday.  If nothing changes, she will go to boot camp on March 18, 2014 as a Sonar Technician. I've been scouring these pages but now that she's official, I have officially joined.

My son leaves march 19

My son is leaving tomorrow and will be sworn in 3/19 at the Chicago Bulls training academy.  Will any of  you be there?

No my son is flying out of pittsburg on the 18th.  already said our goodbye yesterday it was really hard.  good luck to you.

My son left yesterday.  Said our good byes already and got the scripted 15 second phone call that he is ok.  It's going to be some sort of roller coaster ride, but we as ready as we will ever be!

my son just landed in chicago.  waiting for that phone call.

Hey Kim!  My kiddo went through this yesterday.  I got the scripted call long after midnight.  Keep your phone by your bed tonight so you don't miss it, in case it is late.

Remember, it is scripted and VERY short.  Just wish him well, tell him you love him and then wait for the box. lol

Everyone keeps telling me that no news is good news for now.  AND to keep your arms inside the roller coaster at all times. lol

Yes he told me not to expect a long talk. hope all is well for you and your family.
I'll be waiting. Missing him already.

It has been a long day here.  Our youngest boys, 14 and 10 yr olds, are both dealing with it differently.  My 14 year old has been very emotional.  He and his dad are having the hardest time.  I know it will get easier day by day.  I am told that the goodbyes only get harder. lol
