OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

MY SON IS MY YOUNGEST AND I THINK I'M HAVING THE HARDEST TIME.  I HAVE AN EMPTY NEST NOW .  I HAVE TWO OLDER CHILDREN 1 STILL IN COLLEGE THE OTHER ONE IS OUT OF COLLEGE AND LIVES ABOUT 45 MINUTES AWAY.  WELL BEST OF LUCK TO YOU GUYS  MAYBE WE WILL BE IN CHICAGO AT THE SAME TIME.  CANT WAIT FOR CHICAGO.

Just a reminder, posting in all caps is shouting and I really don't think you mean to shot at us.

Also, check your My Page.

Stay busy (start a new hobby or renew an old one), write every day even though you can't mail the letters until you or his family gets the form letter, start learning about what he is doing (see Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and the other Pages within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones)), and stay connected with others who are going through the same thing.

Also, check your My Page.

My son also arrived tuesday evening. received phone call around 8:30.  I have not received the box yet from him.  Hoping it comes this week.  Maybe they are in the same group.

Yes my son is also in a 800 division.  Not sure if we are allowed to say what they are going for.

There is a group for 800 and 900 divisions.  Go check it out.  I was told you can post what, ship, and division.  However, you need to check your privacy settings to make sure they are set for members or friends only.  (I am new, just repeating what I have been told) lol

Received the letter   he is in ship04 Div 812.  I guess they are together.  also do you know if we are allowed to send pictures?

The Page, 800 and 900 Divisions, within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will have some important information for you.

Kim, check your My Page.

Thank you.  I'm new to all of this.  Thanks for all the information.

You are very welcome.

My son arrived at boot camp on March 18, 2014.  Haven't received "the box" yet.  It will come soon no doubt.
