Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Hello ladies. You are about one week behind me. My son left on 3-19. We received his box on 3-24 and his letter on 3-25. Keep in mind we only live 40 minutes from great lakes. The first few days are definitely the hardest.

I found out from the recruiter today that my son is ship 9 division 179. I'm not going to mail anything yet since I didn't get the form letter but it is nice to have heard something :) no letter or box yet

Wow, may I ask what made him decide on Navy? My son has wanted to be in the military since he was 12 years old. He was also interested in the coastguard but in the end the Navy offered more job opportunities and hopefully more travel. He is interested in Hawaii and San Diego possibly.

He wanted Airforce at first since he was in JROTC all throughout his high school years. But in the end, his ASVAB score was not high enough since the Airforce was very demanding and competitive, so the Navy was his fall back plan. I am excited for him though! He finds the military a chance for him to explore himself before we decide to marry. He also would like to travel. :)

We got my son's box today. Just like I've read, his pants legs were rolled up for boot measurements. It was funny and made me laugh.... Mostly because he is so particular about his clothes and they were just crammed in there like that.
New priorities already taking hold...and time constraints I imagine. I do have a
A question.... His envelopes and writing tablet were sent home. Maybe I sent the wrong thing with him? He kept the stamps, pen , and address book. Odd I thought. Also, can I use business size envelopes to mail him letters or does it need to be regular size? Does it matter? Thanks and I hope everyone else gets their box soon. Now I just need the letter!
