Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 930

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I am so proud of my son. Just made my reservations
Oh yay! I envy you, futurenukemom. :-) I'm not allowed to go to my husband's PIR because I'll be too pregnant to fly.

I wonder if our SRs know each other.

Ashley...I have not gotten anything other than scripted call and the BOX. Son is ship 02 div 930. No form letter, no calls. Many of the other moms have had all this and more? Is it b/c they have more training for Ship Staff?

Hi Ashley!  My nephew is on Ship 02 div 930.  We did get the form letter but we have not gotten a phone call yet.  I think it might be because they are busier at night and on the weekends.  The address was on the form letter, If you dont have it i can give it to you.

Hey Tammy. :-) I started a Facebook page for Ship 02 Div 930 if you're interested.

futurenukemom...where are you staying? Where are you from? I haven't gotten my form letter yet..trying to be patient! need help soon in figuring out PIR, despite all of my reading!

tammym0809: You're so sweet. Thank you! :-) I received the mailing address in his form letter. I just haven't gotten any phone calls or actual letters from him. I did send him two letters on Monday, though. Hopefully he gets them. I read that they might be busy with guard duties and unable to call. And knowing my SR he's picking up other recruit's guard duties to stay busy. lol I just hope to hear something soon. I'm not a patient individual. lol

I know its hard waiting!  They say "no news is good news" so thats a good thing! :)  I sent out a few letters as well but havent gotten anything but the form letter!  I would think that they did get our letters.  I read somewhere that they usually get to write a letter the third Sunday that they are there.  So Im guessing we should get letters sometime next week.. (hopefully sooner)  Its tough not knowing what is going on..so many questions.. I will let you know for sure if I get a letter or a call.. crossing my fingers for both or us!! :)

I'm just confused. I missed his "I got here" call because my phone didn't ring. Suddenly I just had a voicemail. It was infuriating. lol But he left an 11sec voicemail that said he'd be able to call in 2wks and write in 2wks. So...I've had my heart set on this week. It's a pretty big bummer that it hasn't worked out that way. Every day feels like a week.

I sincerely appreciate your being so sweet. :-) And if I hear from my SR I will let you know as well.

I keep wondering if our SRs are friends. Wouldn't that be a trip? :-)
I just found out some information on our SRs ship/division! A lady on another RTC Facebook page has a SR in our division that she was able to speak to for personal reasons. He said that they're the last on the "list" to make phone calls and that they haven't had holiday time to write letters yet, but they are receiving them. So that's why we haven't heard from our SRs yet! :-) I hope this makes you feel better. It made me feel a bit more at ease.

This is great information! I waited and waited for the "I'm here" phone call and never got it. Instead I got a call from his girlfriend saying he tried to call but I didn't answer. I had a death grip on my phone that night and it never rang. Broke my heart! I miss my son so much I can't wait to hear his voice!!

Hello everyone!! I was so excited to see this site and then to find a page just for my sons division!! It will be so nice to connect with other people going through the same things I am. I'm sure everyone around me is sick of listening to me talk about my son. :)  I am so excited for June 6th! My sons girlfriend and my best friend are coming with me. None of us have ever been to the Chicago area. We have made all our flight, hotel (staying at the lodge on base!), and car reservations. Now we are looking at things to do while there. But not knowing how much liberty they get makes it a bit hard. I know my son will be going to A school there at Great Lakes. Does that make a difference in how much liberty he gets?
