Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 929

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Good morning! 31 days! How exciting, although it seems lilke it will never get here! He's only been gone for 4 weeks but it seems like so much longer. My SR is in Div 929. He arrived in GL on 3/31. I've talked to him twice and he is doing really well. He's enjoying being in the band and said that he will perform his first graduation ceremony on week 6. You know I'll be planted in front of the computer with a box of tissues. LOL!  Have a great day!!

Good morning ClerMom! I know, it seems like it's never going to get here! It does seem like they've been gone longer than that. My SR is also in 929, but he is Drill. Hoping I get to see him in the two PIRs before his! Definitely going to be glued to computer, haha!

Hi Everyone

I received a letter yesterday. (my second one since she's been gone)  She said that they are beginning more hands on learning so she was excited for that. The letter was dated 4/27 and she said that their " first PIR performance is in 2 weeks".  I'm thinking that they might be performing on May 9th as well as 5/16 & 5/23?   She also said that they will get to leave base to march in a memorial day parade.

Everything in her letter sounded very upbeat.  She said that the best part of her day is when she receives my letters!  So keep writing those letters even if you don't hear back from your SR.  They look forward to getting them!

I was hoping to get a phone call today. I haven't heard from my daughter since Easter. Her last letter said she had duty last time the had phone privileges. Has anyone received a call from their SR recently?

Hi beaandbing!

No, I don't think anyone has gotten any calls since Friday the 25th (when your SR had duty). I missed my son's call that day, but at least he got to talk to his Dad. Someone on the FB page said their hubby said they might not get any more phone calls for a while :( I hope we get one on Mother's Day...that would be the best gift!!

Hello fellow 929ers!  Only 24 days and counting! I am looking forward to a call from my son this weekend for Mother's Day. I hope they're allowed to call. I'm also hoping that all of our SRs are doing well and that everybody is staying healthy in that crazy up and down weather they're having up there. We're all booked with the airlines and Lodge. Last thing left to do is get the rental car. Anybody know of a nice restaurant nearby to have dinner after PIR? I'm sure he'll want a good steak or some seafood. :)

Good afternoon everyone! 16 days and counting down. It was sad that our SR's did not get to call for Mother's Day, but hey we know they are working very hard. I am looking forward to the "I'm a SAILOR" call then I know it will not be much longer. I hope everyone is doing well.

Hi Tammy! I know...I was sad too, that we didn't get calls, but I know they are so VERY busy right now. I will be happy with a letter or two and my "I'm a Sailor" call!! Counting down the days! :-)

Hello NanM. Me to!!!! 15 days!! We got a letter today. My daughter is doing ok. I have sent her a letter everyday since she has been gone. Even started before I got the address. But ther was one day I was not able to send one out and it upset her. I felt so bad. I am excited to watch the PIR tomorrow to try and see her! One thing I did for her the first 26 days was with every letter, I sent a letter of the alphabet with an encouraging word! She really liked that. Now I send her inspirational quotes to help her through. I would like to meet other parents when we get there.
What a wonderful day!!!! Did not get the "I'm a sailor call" yet but I did get an unexpected call! It was so great to hear my SRs voice. Since it has been a while. That made my day and I am so thankful. Now I can make it through the next few days a lot better!!!
