Check the discussion, Daughter left for bootcamp; there are others there with recruits who left on Tuesday.

Thank you so much for your help!

You are very welcome.

My son also left on the 20th. I got "the box" which was a fed ex padded envelope containing his cell phone, charger and some paperwork on Friday the 23rd. I am hoping to get mail this upcoming week so that I can mail the letters I have written so far. I miss him so much. I write a letter a day. I can't wait to start mailing them. Was your son going to be sending his clothes back also? Maybe that takes a bit longer?
Yes, he will be sending his clothes. We also live out in the country so maybe that's why it is taking so long. I am so proud of him but also miss him very much.
Hi! My son left on the 20th as well, I am from Boston, Ma!
I am away for the weekend opening our summer camp and can't wait to get home today to see if the box came! I am waiting anxiously for the address as well. I am curious to know what their sat and sun schedule is like? Do u think it's the same as mon- fri? Also Memorial Day? I am missing my son terribly, wondering how he is doing constantly!

@Pete's Mom from what I've read, Sunday is a "rest" day when they can attend religious services, have a chance to write home, study, etc. I'm also curious if they will have Memorial Day off. I'm sure there will be some sort of ceremony at least.

Memorial Day will be a HOLD day and will be treated much like a Saturday. See Holiday Routine in What does ??? mean? (A Guide to Navy Abbreviations and Terminology). I agree that there should be some sort of ceremony, but it has not been mentioned before.

Hi Heather, My son left on the 21st, so he is not far behind your son. First few days are hard, aren't they? What is your sons job going to be? My son is Aircrew.

Check your My Page.

Hi Everyone, My daughter left on Wed. out of Maine. Her recruiter just emailed me her address. I am missing her badly since she left right from college graduation. She is in Aircrew. Keeping strong, Colleen
