Looking forward to meeting some moms who have sons/daughters that arrived today June 3, 2014.  My son left from Atlanta today.  Got the I'm here call at 8:36 pm. Nervous and happy for my son.  Do not want to hear from him before the 3 week time frame as that would mean something has happened.  I will rely on the Navy for Moms to get me through the next few weeks.  My  husband has now started reading everything he can about RTC.  He waited until our son left, not me I wanted to know as much as possible ahead of time.  Navy strong, Moms!

Oh Momma a early phone call does not always mean something is wrong some recruits have to call home because they need more information especially for their security clearance or for additional info on past medical issues.  But most importantly some are given the chance to call home as a reward for a job well done and work very hard to earn that privilege!!!! And yes we are here for you!!!

That "3 week" call could come before or after that. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and Phone Cards and Phone Calls.

I'm a little confused Lemonelephant as to why you sent that to me please explain

Mamma D, That was a reply to scubagirl. Note that the reply was to the discussion and not to your reply to her.

If you have the emails turned on, then you will receive notice of all posts within this discussion unless you click on "Stop Following."

No that's not the one I was referring to.  It was in reference to my settings but it's been removed

You have made changes 1 and 3 in OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile). You may need to also make change 2.

Yes this is similar to what I received but did not say I had made changes but that changes needed to be made to section 2

My daughter too as well arrived yesterday to Chicago. I can't wait to my letters arrive and that phone call. I am missing her already and can't stop thinking on what she might be feeling this very moment

My son arrived at BC on June 3rd.  We received the call around 9pm.  I agree with you that I do not want any call that informs us that something is not right.  I pray that all goes well, not only for my son, but for all of the recruits with him.  I have been reading as much as I can about what is going on at BC.  I'm finding loads of information, but it does make me worry that something might go wrong.

On the 3rd, we met 2 other SR's that were flying out of Columbus, Ohio.  What wonderful young men they are.  It seems that all three of the recruits are bound for Pensacola after BC even though none have the same rate.  It was a very enjoyable visit prior to the boys flight to Chicago.

My husband also arrived at RTC on June 3rd. I got my call around 9 as well. So proud of him for doing this but it really sucks being away right now especially with not much contact. Like most I will definitely have to rely on the site to get me through these next 8 weeks. I really miss him but I am slowly getting used to being away from him. My husband will also be going to Pensacola :). I was able to get his address today so can't wait to get my letters out to him and hopefully hear from him soon.

I left groups for you on your My Page.

Remember, the RTC has requested that you wait on the form letter before sending letters.

The earliest that he will be able to mail a "real" letter will be the 16th since his first holiday routine when he can write is the 15th. See Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit.

My son also arrived RTC Wednesday, I can't stop wondering how he is feeling every moment. Thank Everyone who posts information on this site. It helps to know there are other loved ones feeling the same as I do.
