Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

@ Proudcomom I'm getting nervous now . I'm trying to keep myself real busy to keep my mind off it when I think hard about it I start to cry. We will be going to MEPS with him also to see him swear in. We are having a going away party next Saturday and his birthday party also he will be in BC for his birthday . Thank you @ lemonelephant for all the great info . We are trying to drive up there from Texas to see him graduate from BC .

Michelle, are you going to go to the airport with him? Remember, you can get a gate pass to sit with him until his flight leaves. When my first son left for bootcamp they dropped him off at the airport 4 hours before his flight left. He was so nervous and appreciated having me there with him. Hang in there, we'll be going through this together. It makes it so much easier when you have other moms to lean on.

I have been doing the same Surfergirl7 and Publichealthgal keeping myself busy because if I think about my son leaving to hard . I start to cry also

Yeah I know what you mean. It feels a little sureal to think that by next Thur my son will be doing drill, folding things down to the milimeter, eating in the chow hall. When I think about that, I kind of smile and think "This will be really good for him". I'll miss him but at the same time I am so happy for him. All he's wanted to do is be around military things since he's been a toddler. It kind of balances things out. Also a really good friend of mine whose a social worker told me something that really helped. When I told him that I had a really hard time with goodbye's he said not to say goodbye, but tell him "I'll see you in a couple of weeks" He also asked "How long have you been around him, 19 years?" "Give him a break, let him do his thing and you do yours". Now I know that sounds kind of harsh but it was said in humor and love and for whatever reason it stopped the constant crying. I cry but not as much. Now I'm just focused on what needs to be done next. To be a mom of a soldier or sailor is so tough. We'll be okay, we just have to "Hang tough" just like our kids will.

We are getting her final hair cut today

Counting down now. It's going to be nice that all of us will be at this swearing in and will go to the airport with him. Last swearing in we had a pretty big snow storm.
Hopefully, I will get to meet some if not all of you at PIR or maybe at the meet and greet!

That would be great. I feel like we are on the count down too. Kind of hard to believe in some way. At the same time, it's really exicting. I'm just really glad I get to talk to other moms who know how this all feels.

My son leaves June 17th also. I'm getting very sad and nervous. Also proud of him!

My son left to MEPS today with his recruiter he will be spending the night and ship out tomorrow. We are meeting him tomorrow to watch his swear in then he is off to BC . It was hard to leave the house with him today it's going to awhile before he comes home . I'm sure going to miss him
