I'm new to the group. My son leaves for MEPS on Sunday and on to BC on 6/9. He's 17 (will turn 18 in July) and going nuke. We are so proud of him and the commitment he has made to serve our country! That said, he's my baby (he'd be absolutely HORRIFIED to see that in print) and my heart is hurting a little knowing that the day that was months away when he chose to enter DEP last July is now literally right around the corner!

I look forward to getting know other Navy moms and thank those who have "been there" for sharing their knowledge with newbies like me!

Hi

Our son leaves 6-10. He is 23. We live in south Jersey..

I am really having trouble connecting with people on these sites.

I just keep seeing my own posts and no responses.

I am such a ludite.  Haha!

Starting to take it personally!!

Dev's A school is in Mississippi.

Go Navy!

Cathy

I hear you - new kids in the room, I guess.

So, our boys will be at BC at the same time! South Jersey meets Oklahoma...lol! That might make for some interesting conversation.

Aaron goes to Charleston after BC. Is your son ready to go? Aaron says he is, but he's been pretty quiet the last few days and somewhat avoiding a couple of necessary conversations that we need to have before he goes. I think "5 more days and I'm out of here!" Is becoming "Oh crud - 5 more days and I'm leaving!"...

My son leaves 6-9 and will be in Charleston for A school.  This is so surreal for me. I think Monday is going to be a tear filled day for this Mom

I bet our guys will cross paths often - they're leaving on the same day and going to A school @ Charleston. I've already told my family that I'll be a big puddle on Monday. Excited for him and so proud, but it's hard to let him go.... I'll be thinking of you Monday!

My son is leaving Monday as well. We will be taking him to the recruiters tomorrow and meeting him where he's leaving from and join him at meps on Monday. Will try to keep in touch through the next few weeks.
