For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son is leaving for BC June 17th from what I have been reading around here the recruits that leave around the same time end up being in the same group up in GL.

Hi Poodlelover. We are from Ohio and my daughter also goes to MEPS on the 17th and BC on the 18th.
Maybe they will be in the same group - my son is a Nuke - what is your daughter?

@poodlelover Love the San Francisco Bay Area ! My parents use to live in Discovery Bay on the delta we use to drive to Walnut Creek to get on the Bart. I was born and raised in a town outside of LA. I moved to Tx in 1995 so I have been here awhile and now my parents have joined me.
I just moved to MO from the central coast of CA. I miss CA very much. My son leaves from here on the 18th as well. Nice to meet you.

Hi Michelle. I didn't realize that those that leave around the same dates end up together. My daughter also goes to MEPS on the 17th and boot camp on the 18th. We are from Ohio. I'm glad to meet you and the other parents.
@mygirlsrock I don't know how they divide them in groups when there in the same class. I would think they divide them by the jobs but not sure . My son is going to be a hospital corpsman his school will be in San Antonio and then from there he will be going to North Carolina to train with the Marines and become a battlefield medic ( corpsman ) . The Marines use Navy Corpsman for there medics.
