Since your recruit arrived on a Tuesday, PIR will either be 08/08/2014 if your recruit is in a Push Division and filled a division from the TG from the week before or 08/15/2014 if he is in a division from the TG that started last week. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC.

leamonelephant what does TG mean ? Wouldn't I received a letter early if heas going to PIR on 8/08 if he was in a push division?

TG stands for Training Group.

See What does ??? mean? (A Guide to Navy Abbreviations and Terminology) for more info on that and to help you with many of the new terms you will come across.

No, because he still would have to finish P-days before sending the form letter and that would not have been until Friday or maybe today. (Only those in an 800 Division send form letters at the beginning of P-days.) The average time to receive the form letter is still 10 days after arrival.

I suspect that he is in the 08/15/2014 TG since a loved one has received a form letter for that TG, but he could still be in the 08/08/2014 TG because form letters can overlap for several days for the two TG's.

I received my kid box. The fed ex man must of thought I was crazy flying out the door to get it . I hope I get the letter soon. The dogs smelled him right away
Glad to hear it. Now we wait for the letter :)

Got my form letter today!  PIR date of 8/15. Lemonelephant was right!  Booked the Navy Lodge.

Thatt grray Navymom1 I'm still waiting for mine. I get rural mail here in my tiwn so things get to me slower sometimes . It sounds likr my son, will have 8/15 PIR date also but of courses that's not a sure thing yet .He could be in a push division

That's probably why you didn't get it yet.  His letter was post marked 6/20 and I'm in PA, not sure where you are.  Well, if your son's PIR is 8/15, let me know!

Navymom1 I live in Texas and are town is actually a big town now after living here for 17 years . Maybe someday they will have regular mail and not rural mail .

I'm looking to move to a small town here in PA.  My Aunt and cousins are in El Paso and my brother goes to Texas all the time for the Army.  Hop you received something today!

Navymom1 just went to the mail box nothing. :(

I can hardly work today knowing that my letter could be sitting in my mailbox!
