My son left for boot camp on June 24th, we received a call at 1:48 a.m. to say he made it safe and no more calls for 3 weeks! I didn't realize how hard this would be! But I know this is the best thing for him and he will love it once he gets past the first couple of weeks!

My son left on June 25th. We got his call at 6:50 pm. He sounded good. Already to get going on BC. I have also had a few tearful moments. Always praying for him and putting my trust in God for his well being. So proud and excited for him.
My daughter left early June 24th, and I got her call about 9:30 that night. I've already written her letters, and so has her younger sister. I can't wait to get to make plans for PIR. We are doing okay without her around, as she spent the last year in college. Our problem is not getting to speak to her. We used to Skype at dinner each night, text throughout the day, and send each other posts on Facebook daily. I have found myself wanting to cry at random things throughout the day, but we are holding up. I know it's too soon for a box and letter, but I keep wishing that today is the day.
My son arrived on 6/24, he took his cell phone with him, He called me about 7:00pm when they got there but still on the bus. As he was talking to me somebody got on the bus and yelled "ok, this is how its going to work", he said "love you, gotta go" and hung up. About thirty minutes later I got the official I'm here talk to you in three weeks call.
My son lived on campus for college, so it isn't the not seeing him, it's the not talking to him that really bothers me. He is very capable, but it sure is hard on the mom's.
I just received my kid in a box. I live in Michigan, so everyone's should be on the way depending on the distance to where you live.
I also just got my kid in a box. When I called it that the FedEx man looked at me like I was nuts. I didn't care, I just grabbed the box and left my poor husband to explain and sign. My daughter, Brettney, arrived on Tuesday, and it came today. We live in Washington State, so for those whose kids arrived on the 24th, it is coming.
