A school starts at various times, depending on how many nukes are available to fill a class. My sailor waited a month for his class to form because his boot camp group had a large number of nukes, so many joined a class within two weeks after their arrival and orientation. There were too many ETs for one class, so he waited. That is Navy life --hurry up and wait. I enjoyed that time because he had lots of time to chat online. Now he is busy with A school and does not have as much time to chat.
Hello! My son graduates 5/30/14 and will be going to GC as well. I'm only a few hours from SC so I will eventually get to visit him in SC when they are settled and he finds out how it works there.
My son just arrived at GC Saturday! He was taken to airport at 5am for his flight at 4pm. He actually got some sleep in while waiting. The graduation was great! He called last night and is so excited about the freedom he has in comparison to bc. We are already planning our trip there.
My son's PIR was 4/25. He's an ET that just started there about a month ago.
My daughter is in GC, her PIR was 5/16, she is still waiting for class to start. Hopefully it will start soon.
My son's PIR was May 2 and he left for GC on May 3. He began ET A school about 4 weeks ago.
Hello!
I think my son started at Goose Creek at the same time as your son.
How are you doing?
Warmly,
KrisM
Hi!
Our son was also away at school on and off so we are just so happy that he is succeeding! I think I am mostly relieved that he is in a structure that is so good for his personal development. I still miss him a little anyway! I am planning to go in August on the week-end right before his birthday. He really wanted me to come! So, I have reservations and am all set for the trip! (We are all the way out in Oregon so the whole family can't go... a bit pricey for my husband and daughter and me to fly there. We did all fly to his graduation from boot camp, however!
Are you thinking about traveling also?
=) KrisM
Hello! Cybermama!
We were off on vacation with our daughter. We could be old-retired folks but are still working away supporting our last child who is at home and enjoying continuing to help others through our work. That road trip to Chicago sounds like it was fun! I bet you will have a great time on your trip to SC too!
I am flying out to see Ky a week from today and am very excited! Then when I get back it is back to teaching for the 2014-2015 school year.
The wild west? New Mexico? How is it there?
Warmly,
Krism
