My son just passed MEPS last week and his report date is 5AUG14.  I know he thinks it's a LONG time but he is finishing high school and it will FLY by.

I'm super excited and proud of him but, in typical mom fashion, I'm nervous and scared for him too.

I do have FB and I watched one video on when they arrive at Great Lakes... I feel the same, I needed to learn and be prepared. I just haven't seen or read anything yet on how they are divided up into divisions.

Mine is leaving from KS
20 days left... My daughter cut her hair today!!

lol I came home a couple of weeks ago and Anna had just went and had hers cut. She didn't tell me or anything took a little getting use to.  She will have to have another before she leaves her hair grows really fast.

Her last day of work is the July 26 it is definitely starting to get real around here. She goes to recruiting office for PT this afternoon.

Alexis didn't want to do it but I told her she should so she can get used to it before she leaves... She's always had very long hair. I waited until I crawled into bed then I cried. Lol I feel like I'm on an emotional roller coaster! :)

Aww bless your heart.  Anna's hair was long too but she kept it in a pony tail the majority of the time. Now she just has a stump to put up.  Stay strong. :)

Ok, I thought I was all prepared for this transition but I'm becoming more and more anxious every day.  One last huge hurdle he has to get through though before he leaves.  He has to get his driver's license!  We didn't bother with it 3 years ago because we couldn't afford a car for him anyway so he has been on a permit all this time.  Now, he HAS to have it before he can leave and the first appointment we could get is tomorrow (after calling repeatedly for weeks trying to get an earlier one).  He has to go over an hour away from here to take the test since none of the closer facilities had appointments available.  To top it all off he is going to have to take it in a rental car because we have a broken turn signal in our car which is going to cost a small fortune to fix.  I just see so many potential problems and I'm quickly losing my marbles! :(

Sorry to vent!  I'm just a wreck right now!

Perfect place to vent!!! :) I too am a wreck - everything seems to be happening so fast. Prayers that everything goes well for the drivers test. NM hugs to you mishka422 !

Thanks Dannell!!!

No problem! Contact me anytime, the more support the better! :)

Will do!  You do the same...not that I'm much help at the moment since I apparently lost my backbone. LOL

:) Let us know how things go!
