Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Trying to figure out the pros and cons of getting married before or after he swears in and then between before or after boot camp.

I prefer to get married before he signs. Can someone help me make a list to present to him. He is all about logic, so I figure if I could provide him with a more logical explanation we can finally make a decision.

I'm starting to get really nervous about him joining. I want to steal all his attention because I know soon I won't have it much.

We got married before he went to talk to the recruiters for the first time because we knew that there is a lot more red tape after that. 
I believe that there is more paperwork for the recruiters if you get married before he is sworn in so they will try to talk him out of that because it may delay leaving for bootcamp. However, if you get married before he leaves, you will get some support financially while he is gone and insurance.

After bootcamp, he will have to put in a request to do so. It may be denied.
Also, if you don't get married before his first orders and he gets stationed over seas, you won't be able to go with him. 

When is he getting sworn in?

He isn't able to swear in until we establish child support or get married. The recruiter is pushing for child support because marriage could potentially delay his entry to boot camp.
Hence my dilemma. :/
