My son just arrived at Boot Camp last night. I received his call around 12:30 am letting me know he arrived. Is there anyone else whose child just began this experience? I'm nervous for him but also very excited and proud of him!

Where is "boot camp"? My son started OCS yesterday in Newport. He is my youngest too.
Enlisted boot camp, i.e. Recruit Training Command, is at Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois, about an hour drive north of Chicago.
Mine also arrived 7/17. Can you believe it has only been a week? It feels like he left a month ago.
It is strange to think it's been a week. I received the package yesterday. Funny to be excited to get dirty laundry. Now I'm looking forward to getting the form letter with his information so I can write to him.
Purple Unicorn, My son also arrived at BC on the 17th. I was informed today that his PIR is 9-19. He's in Ship 14, Div 291
Join PIR 09/12/2014 TG 44 to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR. Divisions 283 and 284 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 (BST) together, so look for others with loved ones in either division. There is a discussion within that group for the two divisions.
Check your My Page.
My son arrived July 17th also. I now have the box and the form letter. So proud of him also. A little worried about getting everything set up for arriving at his graduation. Has anyone stayed at the motel 6?
