My son just passed MEPS last week and his report date is 5AUG14. I know he thinks it's a LONG time but he is finishing high school and it will FLY by.
I'm super excited and proud of him but, in typical mom fashion, I'm nervous and scared for him too.

We are doing a family dinner out at Outback tonight. Robert is spending tomorrow with the girlfriend. Sunday, its just me and him! We will go to the cemetery where my mom is, lunch and swim.
We lived with my mom his whole life until she passed in 2011. So it's really important to him to visit before he goes.
We got this Moms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me too. My son reports Monday night and ships Tuesday. I am holding it together in front of him but I cry behind closed doors.
Tonight is our last family movie night too. :( What does he want to see? Lone Survivor. Oh yeah, just great!
Anna reports Tuesday and ships out Wednesday from Memphis, Tn. We are going to watch her get sworn in that Wednesday morning and see her off at the airport. This is probably when I will really loose it.
Hey ladies we can do this LET'S ANCHOR DOWN! We obviously have raised amazing kids because they are giving themselves to our great country to defend our freedom, nothing makes me more proud of these kids. These amazing kids must have amazing parents that have taught to give selflessly, good morals and give it their all. We can do this ladies I know we can because we are proud moms and proud moms can take on anything. I love you ladies because we share a common bond and I will have you guys in my thoughts and prayer threw out the next few months. Don't hesitate to call on me for a shoulder. Good luck to you and your babies.
Robert is leaving out of Grand Rapids, MI. Anyone else here from GR?
MEPS in in Lansing. We were told Tuesday's swearing in was just a formality and that really, between time, money and travel, save all that for graduation. Now, I wish I hadn't listened to that and was going Tuesday. But then I remind myself that I don't want to make this any harder on him. So I am torn.
Where is Valparaiso?
Christmas in July. LOVE IT!
Have a good day ladies. Hugs to all!
What a cool idea for the address book!
After his friends leave and I am up alone, I will be penning a quick letter to Robert and slip it in his book.
Great day with my kiddo. To hear him and his friends laughing makes me tear up cuz I know I may never hear that again.
Hugs ladies!
