I understand and you are not a Debbie Downer! All parents get like that sometimes. We may act tough on the outside, but deep down within, we are missing our kids tremendously. I wish them all the best and look forward to graduation. There is truly a bright light at the end of the tunnel. Good-luck, Cece!::))
My son will be leaving early Saturday morning to Pensacola Florida. I really thought he was coming home for a week or so before going off to "A" school. I am so disappointed about that, but I know it is the Navy life and I need to start getting used to it.
It is really wonderful to be able to communicate with other moms. By the way, where is Mayport?
Congrats is definitely in order. They have worked so hard and in the end it does pay off. I remember the first week when my son got there, he wrote me saying if he knew it was this hard, he wouldn't have joined. However, further in the letter, he stated "There is a very bright light at the end of the tunnel and I will not give up." He further stated that he wanted to be positive for me as I am always a positive mother. It brought tears to my eyes. I wish them all the best on this journey!!!!!!
Mayport is near Jacksonville. My son (Div 817) is going to Panama City.
I think our sons learned a lot about themselves these past weeks that will be very important as they move on in their lives and their Navy careers - like never giving up no matter how hard things are.
Pensacola and Mayport will be fun places to visit!
