The box and the letter came today.  I couldn't bring myself to open the box so I made my husband do it.  :)  I'm a big chicken!  I was so excited to see his address!

He's Ship 9 Div 307 with a PIR of 3OCT.

My son is also SHIP 9 DIV 307!

Awesome!

I got the letter today too & also have PIR date of 10/3. I don't see a PIR group yet. Now I've got a definite count down to follow.

Ship 09. DIV 308

My son is also there!

YEA!  I have a lot of anxiety about making our reservations.  What if something happens and he gets delayed or, God forbid, separated!  My husband tells me to stop being negative.  I've always been one of those people who plans everything according to the worst case scenario so that if it's not that bad, it's easier.  BAD!

You make all plans with a possible "out". I don't recall where you are coming from, but if you have to fly, buy the insurance where you can reschedule.

Hugs !

What day did your son arrive at RTC?  My daughter got there 8/6...her box arrived yesterday but I am still waiting for the letter with her PIR date and address.  I have 5 letters waiting to be mailed!

My son got there 7/29 and I still have not received his letter.  Yesterday (day 14) I caved and called his recruiter.  We are only 3 1/2 hrs. from the RTC and recruiter said it usually takes 3 days for mail so who knows what happened to it when so many others from his ship and division already received their letters.

My dtr shipped August 5. I have received box but no letter. Called recruiter for address. Ship 11 div 305. Still don't know PIR date.

We just received our "Form letter" yesterday. My son left Aug 5th!  He is ship 11 div 305 also with a PIR Oct 3rd.  My husband and I stayed up late last night not only writing letters but also booked our flight and hotel.  :)  We are from around Dallas, Texas.  I had to "re-write" my first two letters that I had already written him since my husband said I needed to be uplifting and not so I can't live without you.  (which I am) haha :)  I wonder if our two have become friends?

My son is in ship 11 div 306, can't wait to see him!!!

Hello, I'm new to this site. Well I've been on the site several times but new as a member. :) My son Danny is also in bootcamp, PIR date of 10/3 and on ship 9/Div 307. I received his letter and box on Tuesday. I was so happy! Just seeing his handwriting (in all caps) made me want to cry. Has anybody received an actual letter from their SR? From everything I read, they probably will not get to write until this Sunday but just thought I would check.
