Tues 9/2:  only 9 days left people!  I have a new basket for New Hampshire, so we are over 30 baskets, remember if you didn't sign up for a basket, you can always bring a little goody that we can add to another basket or just try to win your favorite to take back home, can't wait to meet everyone!  Stay safe the next week and a half and see you all at Sarge's Meet and Greet!

Thurs 8/28:  14 days until PIR, 30 Baskets will be on the table, great job PIR 9/12 !

Sunday 8/24 Update:

Here we go ladies and gentlemen!  These are the baskets that I know of so far, Wisconsin, Oregon, Ny, NJ, Texas, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Idaho, Minnesota, Michigan, California, S Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Chicago, IL, Arizona, Western PA, Colorado, we also have a beautiful sculpture, Little Red's BBQ basket, Travel Snacks, the TShirt donation as well as 6 challenge coins, One per ship in our division.  That puts us at 28 different items to bid on.  Amazing guys!

Friday 8/22 update.

Sarge does not have baskets, but in talking to another mom, we thought gift bags/dollar store ones, we can lay them out and put the contents on top so people can see what is in them, maybe a flag that tells what state and they are from, and then the winner can put everything back in the bag and not have to deal with a basket.  Of course, if you have other ideas - feel free to share!

Thanks everyone, this will be a fun evening, at this time in 3 weeks, we will have a "boat Load" of baskets !  Awesome!

  HappyWednesday everyone!   UPDATE 8.20.14

OK Folks, here is my news!!!!  #1 we have 20 baskets so far, I am going to see if Sarge has extra baskets we can use as I imagine people who are flying tend to leave them there, or we can use Dollar store gift bags, boxes etc.
#2 !!!! Sarge has graciously offered to provide us one  challenge coin for each ship at the Meet and Greet!  This is very exciting, these are very meaningful for our Sailors and have a long history in the military.   You can check out their history at www.pirgifts.com where there is a short video when you click on any of the Ships' Coins.
My son was given one at HS Graduation by an Airman that introduced any military Grads and when he visited his recruiter, they were jealous because none of them had one. So this is very exciting!
I will post the baskets we have in progress, if anyone wants to assist anyone, just friend them and make it happen.  Great job everyone!!!

hopefully there will be some skinny baskets, lol.  One of my thoughts was a scratch off basket, but it would have to be Illinois Lottery tickets so you could redeem the winners before you leave town.  I will see if I can find some pictures of previous events.

got you down for Texas Elilam46, I will send any other Texans your way,  thanks so much for doing this!

You can just donate to the "raffle" and get no tickets and then it will count in our "total" we give to Sarge.  It all goes to the same person anyway, so either way will work!  :)

Good Point, CP - we are also receiving a donation from Tesa for the T shirts we ordered that will also go to Sarge, that is a bit over $500, so he should be able to continue this wonderful service for our sailor families,

I kind of feel the same way with flying no room to take home if you win! I love the fun of getting them together but if I was driving might be more room. Plus taking out sons laptop etc it all adds up for space I'm going to think about it as I'm staying until Monday time enough to eat some munchies from the baskets :) anyone got any pictures from old ones

I did speak with Sarge yesterday, he has the tickets and the buckets and will have tables set up for us, so far we have baskets from Wisconsin, Oregon, NY, New Jersey, Texas  and a Travel Snack basket.  If there is anyone from these areas that would like to connect with others from your State, let me know and you can work together and keep the cost down.

Would love to add to a California Basket, if anyone else has already got something started. Or tell me what I need to do.

that would be great Wendy, I have another Mom from California from Facebook, or maybe it is you, lol.  Friend me and we can find out, I will connect the two of you since you are traveling so far!  Thanks so much

Hey I wouldn't mind doing a basket for SC but my dilemma is we are driving in and our plans are to make it to the meet n greet but you know how unexpected things occur when traveling. We SHOULD get there around 4 or 5 but thats near perfect conditions. If we dont make it in time can Sarge use it for the next Meet?

I am sure he can, that is a great idea!  I am driving too and everytime I think about it, I am pushing our departure time a bit earlier.  There is someone else starting one for SC, so if you want to bring some things to add to it, then you can put them in when you get there!  Safe travels!

Oh ok can you give me the name of the one for SC and I can try to get with them.  Thank- you Safe travels to you as  well!
