Hello,

A discussion group for your ship will be started when PIR gets closer in your PIR 10/03/2014 group~  Welcome to your PIR group here:

Most are booking their hotels now with the favorites being Navy Lodge (reserve under your SR's name), then Springhill Suites, Holiday Inn Express, Courtyard by Marriot, and Residence Inn--all in Waukegan/Gurnee about 10 mins away from Recruit Training Command.  No deposit necessary.  Call the hotels directly for the Navy Graduation rate.

Soooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Received another call today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 37 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He sounded better except frustrated with his unit. Suuuuuuuuuuupppppppeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrr happy Momma!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm probably being stupid and a typical worry wart mom but so many from 9/307 got calls today and we didn't.  It just makes me wonder if my son got in trouble and wasn't allowed to make a call!  He has always been a talker but he told me last week when he called (for 3 minutes) that he was the one keeping his mouth shut amazingly enough! LOL  I guess I'll find out when I can eventually hear from him again.

mishka422,

Your SR could've had watch~~  Try not to assume the worse.  There's lots there to keep him busy!!!

I would love to know more about my SR getting off base after PIR. I'm pretty sure he'll be leaving GL on Saturday sometime for A school in FL. But my question is will he be doing a long process before he can come with us to the hotel on that Friday or will he process out in the morning. I heard if they have A school in GL then the process is long. And if their leaving for A school the next day he'll be able to get Liberty shortly after PIR and then he's ours for a little. I have older n laws that will be staying w/us in the hotel. And can't go to PIR due to lack of tickets. Should I leave them there at the hotel to watch ceremony live stream or can they get on base to watch the ceremony on a screen somewhere on base? Geez, to much to know for someone that's gotta do all the planning for everyone. I would just love to speak w/someone who was in the same boat (no putt intended...lol) as I am. I'm staying at the Homewood suites w/the gp's. I've been in Chicago before and the traffic took us hours from tolls to exit to blocks. I hope that's not how it is Friday morning
